Many people think ancient neolithic structures, such as the Rollright Stones of Warwickshire, were built on ancient energy fields. Some even claim they are able to tap into this energy.

This is a fantastic series, and it's great to have Clive Anderson and his wicked sense of humour, back on our screens.

This stuff blows my mind. I love it. But would love even more to know how it got there and what it was for.

Unfortunately pretty much everything in the video is straight up History Channel level conspiracy theories. I guess the Smithsonian is following the same path they did.

Its a ring of rocks. It has no powers or energies. Its just a ring of rocks that a man has convinced himself has powers because at a subconscious level he needs them to. We can discuss their possible religious or cultural purposes for ancient peoples. But they arent full of some unknown energy. You may say “prove it then!” But it isnt the job of science to prove something doesnt exist. Its the job of the claimant to prove their crazy claim. Otherwise i could claim “there is a unicorn living on saturn!” And say “you cant prove me wrong.” Its my job to prove it does exist. So until one of these ancient aliens conspiracy theorists actually sit down and do the hard work of attempting to prove their theories beyond “you can just-feel it man,” its safe to assume it doesnt exist.

Anyone know the title of the violin piece used at the beginning of this video? It's very serene, heard it more than once on TV, but cant find its title or player.

The question posed in the video's title is interesting. However, you don't try to answer the question in the video.

I love how he realizes that after all the mysticism and mysterious energy talk, it could have just been a track, with rocks for people to throw!! I don't discount the mystical aspect, bit sometimes we look to deep.

Those are huge stones. It would have taken people a lot of effort to move them. They served some purpose not to just throw rocks... I don't believe in the mystical aspect.. energy etc.

She's doing ritual magic clearing and I suspect with her yoga reference she knows, at least peripherally, there is something energetically happening in that spot.

Let's define our terms first. What is an "energy field"? What kind of energy: electrical, radioactive, etc.?
@olbradley
@olbradley 3 жыл бұрын
There is no such thing as an “energy field” in the way the video references it. There is however such thing as an electromagnetic field which is a completely different thing. It’s actually pretty fascinating, id recommend you read an article or watch a KZbin video about it or something, quite interesting in my opinion.

This has got to be the worst and most scientifically mis-informative title and Smithsonian video yet. This goes beyond the definition of just pseudoscience to the point where it is genuinely harmful to those who don’t know otherwise.

Saying an expert on fairies might have the answer is just terrible. Learn science and stop attributing things to "magic" The Smithsonian should be ashamed of itself for even letting this old man speak on the subject. There is no magic energy field it's a circle of rocks and human like patterns. Ffs

I can't watch this series; the tone is all wrong, for me: Anderson ruined what could have been a great series with his incessant, cringe-worthy attempt at humour. He makes it sound like a kids' program from the 1970s.
