Are the Three Kings Islands the best spearfishing location in the whole world?

I'd been watching the weather for a few months - looking for a break that would let me go to the best place for spearfishing that I know. The Three Kings Islands.
Finally, a window opened up and I gave the brother ‪@HarmoniousRa‬ a call "You want to do a trip to the kings?" "Hell yeah I'm on my way" was his reply.
Another message to a couple of local boys and we had a crew.
After a very early start we launched a bit later than what we wanted - We had a breakdown with the tow vehicle and had to sort that out. After a long run up to the kings we arrived to a bit of rain but we didn't care - we were going to get wet anyway....
Getting in the water there were fish right under the boat and the spearfishing was simply EPIC! Massive kingfish were soon coming over the side of the boat and the boys all had smiles going on....

They are stunning fish, so majestic and yes sometimes they just won't come near. The trick is to pretend that you are not at all interested in them and then they are more likely to come in for a look. Cheers!!!

Don't worry too much about sharks, it's not that common to see them unless you are shooting kingfish in some of the more popular spots in the Hauraki gulf...Cheers!!!

You could get most of the species up there with the Hawaiian sling, there are guys using pole spears with slip tips on massive kingfish, so anything is possible and yes, I have had some good channel growth lately. Cheers!!!

I can't remember off the top of my head what the bro used for this one but usually I just dice up the fish, add lemon juice for a bit and then drain (you don't need the lemon juice, but it makes it last longer if you are not going to eat it all at once) then add the vegetables you want - I like tomato, capsicum, cucumber ect... Then add some sort of cream - I like a coconut cream and dairy cream mix, after that it is just salt and pepper to taste. (Harlem used soy sauce in this one as we had no salt) Cheers!!!

6 hour minimum, at my boats 24knt cruising speed, you could go faster but you burn a stack more gas or it could be a lot slower if it is a but rough and you have to slow down because of the conditions...Cheers!!!

Yeah, We get on good as, there is always a tiny bit of rivalry when you are on a spearfishing mission - everyone wants to be the one who spears the biggest fish but it is a loving sort of rivalry and we are both stoked to see the other get a mean as fish! Cheers!!!
