Interestingly, in Guild Wars 2, "The 6", the Human Gods, ARE confirmed to be space aliens. So, essentially, in a nutshell, the Humans of the world of Tyria are descendants of aliens.

Just wish we got more about the Triforce in BOTW and TOTK. While it still exists in Zelda at the very least, it is quickly just forgotten and not made to be a big deal compared to the Zonai tears as an example.

I read on a fansite something about them coming from a nebula. I only heard it on one site and quoted word for word on another sitebut had no idea what it was quoted from. could have been japanese, could have been a game manual could have just been fan theory. thank you

To one side I hate ancient aliens theory thanks to all the baggage it comes with but can't lie is a nice theory for fantasy worlds, still for me I see Hylure more as a post-apocalypse fantasy world that something or someone is always "resetting" it to the medieval times, this explains to me why have so many advance technologic stuff being made by people that shouldn't ever know how to make it without reverse engineering

Well, they were entertaining the idea of a mothership UFO in Hyrule while BotW was in development. Seeing as how other concepts that were scrapped from BotW are appearing in BotW 2, it's not an impossible theory. Another thing, space could be what Aonuma meant by, "the expanded world goes beyond that."

Came here to say this. The original plot of BotW was a more futuristic post-apocalyptic Link, where he fought aliens invading Hyrule.

I mean the moon drastically rotates and you can see a face on it sometimes. Its like this BD face from a side angle. The moon low key gets attention too due to the blood moon and it somehow enabling ganon's power to peak when it turns red, and how it drives hino the moon guy a bit crazy when the particles start floating. My hot take is that malice originates from the moon or was taken there in an effort to prevent misuse after link uncovered the underground malice river/resevoir In skyward beneath the ancient cistern. it's no coincidence the zombie bokblins roam nearby. If I didn't know any better the original purpose was to seal/hide this underground river/reservoir of malice water from outsiders. It would make sense then to build hyrule castle near or over it. The sheikah are not innocent and have messed with the malice themselves, hint hint nudge nudge, the lens and mask of truth and potentially majoras mask. This would make tactical sense too that ganondorf would want to take over hyrule when there was a reservoir of this malice beneath the castle. The texture was always different from normal lava in oot but the 3ds changed the color to look more like the malice we know.

My only real gripe is the Wind Waker statues point, as that could be chopped up to the style of the game being more cartoony or the statues were made based on how hylians or Sheikah depicted them.

Or they were built in disguise, like should they outwardly depict the goddesses when they are meant to be secret keys to unlocking a trial meant to test a legendary hero? Not to mention they also by proxy unlock old Hyrule. It seems like if anyone uninitiated tried to use the three pearls for something nefarious, maybe they would never connect the statues with the pearls in the first place.

@@SkippytWalrus and if they did, it's possible it wouldn't have worked either. Similar to how the Sheikah slate only works for Link, maybe it's the same case for the pearls.

@@mechamanw668 as far as I'm aware the Sheikah slate was practically broken only activated in full when it came into contact with a Sheikah Tower, which also activated all the shrines that fixed it. And even if it did work only for link, that would suggest it has something to do with Link's "soul of the hero" which wouldn't carry over to wind waker because toon link wasn't chosen by the gods. But this is just head canon, really, because I don't think they had that narrative when wind waker was made.

@@SkippytWalrus the shrines and stuff we're created specifically for the hero, hence why it didn't work when Zelda tried to activate a shrine with it. You could also look at it as the hero of winds sorta being tested to see if he's worthy of being the new hero. Idk. But that's MY head canon lol. Yours is a good look at it too Side note, you realize how the tower of the gods kinda looks like a massive version of the botw shrines? With a wide base with a tall pillar protruding from the top, constellation patterns, and a robot inside to test the might of the hero. Prolly not intentional, but it's a neat coincidence

@@mechamanw668 it is really neat. I remember that was actually one of the reasons that I was excited about BOTW in the first place, imma big Wind Waker fan. The lore of the series has gotten so strange with skyward swords and breath of the wilds releases though that I really have trouble keeping the referential things interesting, at least toward any sort of series spanning story, but it's still really nice that there are echoes of the older games, what with the dlc and amiibo add-ons.

Well the Extraterrestrials in Majora's Mask are heavily based on the Flatwoods Monsters. But I'm not sure what kind of realm Termina is supposed to be.

I always assumed that "the heavens" when used in phrases like "ascended to/descended from the heavens" was used in a way like how many of our cultures and religions believe reside somewhere very high in the sky, though not necessarily in space like outside of our atmosphere. Perhaps that's what was meant in the Zelda series.

Watching this all I could think of are the Zonai shown in Tears of the Kingdom Would love to see an analysis video of what exactly Fi and Ghirahim are. I mean I know they are “spirits of the sword” but how did they come to exist? Why only the demon king’s sword and the goddess sword? Curious

What if BotW is so far in the future of OoT, and in Skyward Sword's distant past. Why don't we see the Triforce? It's probably because the 3 dragons flying around the map haven't created it yet.

A thing is said to be alien if it comes from outside a known world - outside a country, outside a continent, outside a planet, outside a universe, etc. To Hylians, anything predating Hyrule's existence would necessarily be alien. This also implies, technically speaking, to every race in Skyward Sword outside Skyloft, Link is an alien. And Scrapper is alien technology to Gondo. And the Minish are also aliens. If you want to refer to "from outside the planet" variety, you might use the term "extraterrestrial" - or perhaps more accurately, assuming the planet is called Hyrule, "extrahyruleal". kzbin.info/www/bejne/mmOamIeohbV0r80

really this theory needed the localized a link to the past manual to have any chance of working well and the japanese manual lines up with whats said in later games and completely contradicts the points you were using from the localized manual so what you said was retcon was actually that the information that you thought was retconed was just localization flaws

Considering that Hyrule is more akin to a country than a world, the only thing that the triforce gods have different than our gods is a physical object that they left behind which could prove their existence, other than that its just a myth or the faith of that country just like irl gods. If you take after Wind Waker and until Spirit Tracks for example, it takes place in a "New Hyrule" with a similar but not the same religion, and the only "link" with the old Hyrule is Link, Zelda and her golden power and the other few descendents, but even Demise spirit is absent in this new country with another demon king taking its place, and pretty much everything regarding the triforce and the three gods is left behind with the old Hyrule.

Malladus is another incarnation of Demise, he is only different compared to Ganon.

@@DarknessIsThePath Not exactly, he's *THE* "Demise" of that new Hyrule. the game says he's the original demon king that was sealed by the gods of that land, the "spirits of good" as the game implies. They are not the ones from old Hyrule (Din, Nayru and Farore), this god, or gods are from this new Hyrule and they have their own history, servents (the Lokomos), their own simbol (the force gems and the spirit tower) and while Malladus bears some similarities with Demise with appearance and lore, that's it for him. (well it's still a zelda game so its not very often that they try to do a new antagonist) The only things left from the old Hyrule in the toon timeline are Zelda and her light power, Link, and their friends passing from generations to generations like Niko and Alfonzo. Everything else is left at the bottom of the Great Sea with Ganondorf, the King of Red Lions and the Triforce.

@@RTheu2109 Spirits of Good are basically the same as the Sages of hyrule, they are not the same as Gods nor the Triforce Deities. If we are going to be very precise regarding words. Demise never stated that Zelda and Link would be followed by his incarnation. He explicitly says: "Extraordinary. You stand as a paragon of your kind, human. You fight like no human or demon I have ever known. Though this is not the end. My hate... never perishes. It is born anew in a cycle with no end! I will rise again. Those like you... Those who share the blood of the goddess and the spirit of the hero... They are eternally bound to this curse. An incarnation of my HATRED shall ever follow your kind, dooming them to wander a blood-soaked sea of darkness for all time! So basically, any villain that causes trouble in which both a reincarnated princess Zelda as well as a destined boy to become Link regardless of bloodline unlike Zelda, and both exist, are forever followed by an evil incarnation of Demise's hstred. While Ganondorf is the most successful one of them all with the closest link to Demise, it does not dismiss that every other villain bound to the two destined heroes are also an incarnation of Demise's hatred. In other words, it is only his hatred that incarnates, not him specifically. Not to mention that Demise is said to be the origin of all evil in the Zelda universe. If not, then there is obviously some "Demon God" out there that created Demise, Malladus and whoever else at some point. Because let's face it, Demise is one rank lower than the Triforce Goddesses just like Hylia was.

@@DarknessIsThePath I prefer to think that the Lokomos are more akin to the sages, than the Spirit of Good, with them being the temple guardians and each one technically having an element like the forest Lokomo or the fire Lokomo, the Spirit of Good actually fits more as it's own deity. And while i agree that Demise curse has an influence on what Link and Zelda faces, it's not always the case though, like, it doesn't need to be connected to Demise at all sometimes. Take Bellum from Phantom Hourglass for example, it probably doesn't even exist since the whole game is a "dream" anyway, or even Majora inside Majora's mask, if we discard theories and just look from everything we know as evidence, it is it's own demon as well, totally separate from the hylian "mythology", you could even put Lorule from ALBW in the mix as well to turn this in a really complicated mess. Also, Malladus and the Lokomos existed waaay before Link and Zelda even set foot in the New Hyrule continent, so they have no connection whatsoever to one another. Chancellor Cole saw the power of light in Zelda so he wanted to use her as a vessel to ressurect his master, almost like what Ghirahim was planning in Skyward Sword.
