What if, instead of just increasing Jenos's numbers, which is a viable but boring and very tricky way of buffing him, they'd rework his healing talent to have some condition to trigger. Maybe something like "Hitting enemies or shields with your gun increases your next Astral Mark's healing by 5% up to 100%". Numbers need to be tuned obviously, but this should encourage players to constantly shoot and engage in combat. The main problem that Penos had before is that his healing was strong while he was hard to kill due to being able to heal through walls as well as having constant access to Stellar Wind. This should fix it, as abusing Stellar Wind won't be an option if you want to keep your team alive. Other way of buffing him is to give him some utility outside of his healing. Back when I consistently played Paladins, Genos gave people 15% damage bonus. Ah good old days, but that thing is what made Benos so good, but also so broken with certain characters. But since last updates, when they introduced new items that can snowball you with damage bonus, additional 10%-15% won't be as detrimental as before. Still, it's just numbers tweak, it doesnt introduce anything new to his gameplay, which is why I prefer giving reworks to bad kits, not just number tweaks.

Or something like 'allies marked are heal for a 20% of damage done by your weapon'. I definitely like where you are going with the tying the heal to the weapon.

Short answer: No. Long answer: Reducing mark's cooldown and amping the duration of it is certainly great, don't get me wrong, but the devs are really clueless about the main problem of Jenos, which is not his heals, but the lack of utility and variety to play him as. Simply making him heal more often doesn't equate to teammates living longer, especially under something like cauterize and considering how low his bursts are.

Binary star does basically nothing, imo the void grip talent is better especially with team coordination when you can spam it through cooldown cards

Binary Star is the best talent. 💀 No one uses grip. Luminary is pointless because of anti-healing scaling faster and it doesn't change his healing much it still sucks.

@@a.k.axurai5678 binary star increases dmg slightly but makes you reload way more and he has a slow reload animation, it’s only a tiny increase and mostly just changes how the damage comes out

his healing talent could turn his astral mark into true healing... but what I would like would be that it grant Nyx delayed damage effect instead... for the duration of astral mark it would reduce the direct damage and turn it into damage overtime... so to give more chance to the heal to do it's job... bu tif that's too hard to code... then make that: astral mark if the target would die with duration on the mark to direct heal for the remaing part of healing that the left duration would do as a direct heal... so preventing some death the the mark would be removed...

My proposed changes for Jenos: - Luminary: Astral Mark now heals allies for 25% of their maximum health when applied (25% sounds like a lot, but in some instances, he would actually heal slightly less than he does now, specifically when healing squishies. Your team would be incentivized to get Veteran to increase the healing they receive, especially tanks. For example, a 2200 HP target would only receive 550 healing from the burst as opposed to the 615 he gives now. With full HP cards and Veteran 3, a base 2200 HP target would get 713 healing, which still isn't that crazy. Now on tanks it would jump up a decent amount, but let's also not forget Mega Potion exists which can technically burst people up for 4000 HP plus 400 shield health with card resets) - If Luminary change is too strong, revert the CD change back to 6 seconds and the Astral Mark duration change back to 12 seconds to compensate

Imagine going against a Koga and you somehow managed to outplay and get him low. Then all of the sudden boom he gets 25% of his health, 200 health shield and 20% move speed. I would be mad.

When caut is at 90 id rather have a support that can do damage than just healing for less than 200 heals a second. The best way to play jenos has always been dps

These buffs suck. His heals are still the worst even with Luminary. Anti-Healing scales faster making him even worse.

Jenos' gimmick of a long last healing source make balancing his heals very difficult, if you just raise any of the numbers it makes killing dmg/flanks pocketed by a Jenos borderline impossible (imagine a Maeve getting healed per second the same amount you're dealing damage to her).
