Are These New Golf Balls Any Good? - TaylorMade SpeedSoft Ink Review

These are the newest golf balls on the market from TaylorMade. Eye catching, soft feel, spin a lot, what more can you ask for in a golf ball? Well I guess you can ask for a ball that always flies straight. The SpeedSoft Ink golf balls are a great bargain, and probably the best bang for your buck right now. Pretty impressive what TaylorMade was able to pack into this affordable golf ball. I would not be surprised if a lot of people of all different handicap levels start playing this ball. I played with this ball today. On 2 different drives, I believe my drives went farther than when I hit a Pro V1. I really like these and I will be trying them more.

Great review. I play this ball in Hi-Vis yellow. Great balls for the money. Long and straight and great around the green.

Just to correct you. When a ball lands on the green it may create a pitch mark, not a divot.

You may be right about this. But then why is it called a “divot tool” to fix those marks? 🤔

@@SwologyGolf It’s not. It’s called a divot tool by mistake. A divot is made by the club striking the ground when playing a shot and removing a layer of grass. (Which should be replaced)

Yes indeed. They do have a slightly more premium feel than other balls in the same class.

Better than that I play them now as my choice ball ..just shot an 83 no pro but was a great ball lasted the whole rd and had no marks

Interesting review! You say in the end it doesn’t go as far as premium options, is that based on your experience with the driver? What can you say about ball flight?

Typically softer balls do not go as far with the driver. This was definitely a softer ball based on all the tests. The ball flight is on the higher side based on the wedge shots I hit.

@swologygolf I played it for the first time yesterday. I am impressed. Soft without that marshmallow feeling. Soft and almost premium feel. High ball flight. Less spin of course compared to urethane alternatives, but enough for me.
