These are awesome but the prob with musik mode is that they aren't as bright as they would be if they all blinked together. With the W-App it had them all blink together. Although Ape Labs said they would fix this. (IDK if they ever did) Hopefully both modes are an option if they did.

Aaron I was thinking about buying the maxi’s but when I found out they could not produce the colors Candle light and Amber that quickly changed my mind. They only do RGBW only. If they did Amber there would be an (A) added to it meaning RGBWA

Aaron I like them but really who knows the difference between your and say Joe Bunn’s Rockville 50’s which are a third of the price? What advantages do these lights have over say the Chinese brand?

I have Rockville best par 50’s. Wireless. Works on battery power. Does everything the apes do as far as I know.

Yep. And for a lot less. Very comparable and easily replaceable even if they don't last quite as long but I think Rockville does a decent job considering the price point. I have a set of six wedges in the charging case and I really like them so far. We do a music magic show, me and my girlfriend, and a set of the wedges along with another set of six smaller lights that are actually RGB pond lights is all we need in addition to one simple nice white front wash to do a stage show on a small to medium stage. Budget lighting but looks great for what we do and the budget of clients we work for. We do have a nice set of drapery as well that obviously makes the lights very effective.

Is there any way to run these on DMX in order to get them to work seamlessly with the rest of the light show?

Hi Aaron, thank you for the great video. my question to you as I just purchased maxi 2.0 lights and with the music mode I had to turn up the volume really loud in order for them to respond to music . when I'm talking and I have it on music mode they don't blink like they do in your video . can you please offer any suggestions to me on how to correct that. Any help would be greatly appreciated 🙏. Thanks Geoff

I do know that they respond better to louder music. I had done a test in my house and when the music wasn't loud enough, they didn't blink much. At my gigs though, no problem at all.

I got 12 and that’s been plenty for me so far. I haven’t tried other ones, but I love the ease and reliability they offer. Didn’t want to worry about dmx, just turn them on and DJ my party. I bought some from Ben and some on Amazon

@@AaronStrawn i find that hard to believe,ive been a dj for 34 years and every gig where theres kids lights are the first thing they go for,especially floor lighting. These would be perfect for corporate events or behind the dj where you can keep an eye on them. A bit expensive but a good effect and no wires which is a plus.

I love and hate these. I own the cans and the maxi. I had someone try to steal a can, so those no longer get deployed anywhere except around my booth. The maxis are overpriced and not bright enough. I hope the 2.0 version takes care of that.

2.0 is supposed to make them3x brighter. Not sure if it effects the older hardware. I've never had anyone try to steal these, but you guys make me paranoid haha

The MAXI Rocks! The cans are junk, like flashlights, easy to be stolen toys. The Coins are worse.

Yeah cans are not up lighting. I used them tonight though during the ceremony for the unity candle table. Maxis are the way to go for actual uplighting

Very stealable fixture i had both and both have been taken and messed with and they are soooo fuckaroundable especially the cans and thats a MAJOR drawback and I have had a few cans go walkabout - cos well they look like a drink can .. they are not worth it for that reason but i disagree they are good enough for uplights in venues and you can 'duuuuu; put two together if you want brighter I have lit a cathedral with mine so I know you are wrong man but you absolutely do need to sheild them and protect your investment...

No these lights are a terrible rip off for what they are. A little box with basic and cheap electronic technology. Break it down to light, colour and wireless electronics is not difficult to make so there's no chance I'm going to pay these scammers all that money for something that should really only be worth 2-300. This company is making them for less than $20 per unit guaranteed.
