Yeah i know. I had this GF from your country, one day the topic was brought and i was fascinated to knew that english geography is completely different to other languages. In yours, while centuries passed, British started to divide the continent in two, The British America and the Spanish one. So, when the time passed by they started to consider North America and South America as two different continents, The British Americans, USA people, was since then called americans. In other languages America never split as two continents, is one continent untill this day and the demonym to all its people is americans, as it was in the XVI to you too. while USA is referred as statunitense (italian), estadounidense (spanish/portugese) that demonym comes from the two first parts of you country name (United States), a raw translation would be something like "unitedstatesians".

I was in Thessaloniki football derby Aris vs Paok like 8 years ago as tourist. It was crazy. After the players came to field there was so much smoke in the air that it took like 5 minutes to see the field again. there was a sign in the crowd ''Aris or death''. Luckily my Greek friend had gave me Aris scarf before the game. :D During the game, the fans were throwing some small explosives in the field. One player threw one back and got a red card .:D The game ended 0-0 which was disappointing to me, cause i would've want to see homefans go completely crazy when Aris scored. The singing was also really intense.

I am Supporting Aris since 1986 and it is for us the greatest rhing to see our God Play.And the group youve Seen the Banner is Called Super 3 Katarini.But we are all Slaves to the Power of our God Aris.Aris3 Total Black Working Class!

These are just Greek fans, among the best ones of course, but you'd better watch Russian fans, Serbs fans, Bulgarian fans or Polish fans (specially Legia Warszawa ones). And if you want to feel a breathtaking atmosphere but without insane flares you can choose German fans, English fans or even some Spanish fans! Anyway, the best way to feel it is just attending personally

4:45 in 1991 the 1 FC Kaiserslautern came with 41.000 fans to the final league Game in Cologne. We won the german Championship with a 6:2 win it was greate, but sadley these days are gone. Who made this video? Gate 7 of Olympiakos is a group name becouse in the past one section of security bars broke and couple fans died during the accident. It happened becouse of so many people that were in the stadium that day. I know this and im not even Greek.

In Greece this behavior is normal. (in some caces the hate between two teams has caused deaths of the fans. This part I don't like about fans in Greece. People get so passionate that bad things happen.)

You want to see a riot, look up London August 2011 Riots, I was in Croydon the 3rd borough of London hit and the worse of all places hit, I witnessed the first murder when gangsters ran out of a car and shot up a guy in front of the Police and just walked back to their car and drove off, then 5 minutes later our oldest most treasured store was fire bombed and the explosion was huge it felt like an Earthquake across the ground and I am use to feeling bombardments around me because I am ex Serviceman for the British Army. When we rioted it took 16,000 Police, Riot Police, Armed Police and it forced our ex PM out of his Italian Holiday and he gave the Police24 hours to get it under control or he was calling the army in, England was burning all because the Police shot each other and killed a attempting to reform but known gangster called Mark Duggan in North London area called Tottenham, this did not start the riot, the lies by the Police did and when the family his white mother went to talk to the Police they slammed the door on her face and then a protest built up and this 15 year old black girl was not part of it and trying to go home so the cops beat her up and that was it 30 minutes later London was on fire, criminal parasites everywhere, political Revolutionaries trying to take advantage of it. I live in Croydon so was right in the heart of it all. Americans other than the Watts riots of 65 and LA riots after Rodney King beating, do not come close to British riots and even your political violence like Charlottesville and Alt Right scared of being doxxed, our Nationalists get fired, their houses putted and bombed, they get jailed as extremists for telling what is plain for all to see. Plus, we are the home of the infamous 1936 Battle of Cable Street, when Communist Jews went to war with the Police for allowing the British Union of Fascists in Military Uniforms to march through Jewish communities chanting "Yids, the Yids, we got to get rid of the Yids". This is why to this day political uniforms and wearing military uniforms for political means is illegal in the UK, it has too much pulling power and attraction, people are attracted to a organic and organised appearing force and nobody is better at this than Nationalists and Fascists or so called Nazi's aka National Socialists.

Galatasaray (AKA Jim Bomb or as they write it in Turkish "Cim Bom") are dubbed "The Lions" (Aslanlar in Turkish -The Ultras are called Ultra Aslanlar). When a foreign team comes to their stadium they hand a massive banner that says "Welcome to Hell" and everyone fires up the flares and they start chanting, loudly. Nearly all the top teams who have played them in Istanbul say that they hate it and that they have never seen anything like it. It's quite intimidating.

I don't think that had anything o do with passion for the team. I've been in a Supporters Group myself and it quickly becomes more about the group and the group's street cred for lack of a better word than the team. These groups can very quickly fall into a gang mentality. There's always a group within the group who leaves the stadium and commits some type of crime. These groups often get into fights. I've even seem some of these groups singlehandedly run their teams out of business when they become unhappy with their decisions. It adds a political element (not so much actual politics, but the argument and backbiting that comes with politics) to the sport. A lot of these people have meetings on weeknights. That means that adults leave work and go to wearhouses or a stranger's house to paint these sign. Not once. Not twice. But multiple times with in a week. From my experience, these kind of things only attract the kind of people who are unbalanced, don't have enough important things to do with their time, and are more likely to take the game way to seriously. Sometimes the footballers don't even like what these people do. For example, look up the vile chant that Manchester United fans are screaming at Romelu Lukaku even though he specifically asked them to stop. Maybe I've just had bad experiences, but I think football would be better off without organized supporters/ultras. Everyone who spends their hard earned money on a ticket will support the team. Anyone will cheer when a goal is scored. My biggest issue also is what about children, people with respiratory problems, people with PTSD, and people with things like autism where all the noise lights and smoke will cause them to not be able to enjoy the game.

Are they organized? Of course they are, you wouldn't pull off something like that otherwise. Can't speak for the Greeks but in my country dedicated fans either cover their own expenses while buying flares, firecrackers and flags or they make monthly contributions (like 10 or 20 bucks) for necessary gadgets. Fans support their local clubs fanatically because they see them as representation of themselves and that instill in them a specific kind of pride. Doesn't matter if it's football, basketball or any other sport. I'm pretty sure if there was a chess tournament, they would also showed up to express their dedication to their players. I know our ways may look crazy to Americans but for us your "fans" are bland, boring and unmotivated. It's almost like you don't care who will win and you're there just to kill some time.
