What material is the 'base' that you punch on. Thank you for the video, could you name the punches so I can be sure to leave them alone. BIG THUMB'S UP otherwise 👍😷👍

What I was punching on is something called a "poundo board". You can find them on Amazon. If you are looking for some quality punches at a decent price, Owden makes some great punch sets. You can find links to both of these in the description of my longer video where I tested for different punch sets.

Something automatic like that is very expensive. You can get into leather craft very inexpensively as a hobby, which is one reason I think more people should try it.

Can anyone recommend a punch that doesn't leave a burr on the exit side of MYLAR? I would be really grateful of any advice. Thanks for sharing the video 👍😷👍

I wish I could say I have experience working with mylar, but I do not. Sorry I couldn't be of help.

Is the bit hollow or solid? Also does it matter which side you punch from and why?

They are solid on one end and holloe on the other with a side ejection for waste. Always strike the solid end with the mallet because the other side cuts the leather.
