They kept saying that these people should do it without filming it, while missing the point that filming it raises the money for them to do it. I understand not liking self serving content, however the number one thing I always think about with charitable videos and things is that the main reason they are filming and posting videos is so they have the financial means to make the donations in the first place? I know a lot “judge” others for filming their good deeds but I don't see it that way. There is so much negativity out there that it is refreshing to see people doing good deeds. Those saying it's self-serving have probably never been poor or in bad situations where you need to see good things instead of all the negativeity.
@CM-yd4ze Жыл бұрын
I think that even though some of it is self serving, without recording or getting some type of social media exposure they wouldn't have the dollars to continue to help people. Content needs to be created to be able to have the finances to support giving back to people. If i were to start out, knock on people's doors asking for donation to help people whether they are homeless, poor, need medical help. How many of you would give me money without thinking that it's bs. But if I created and video recorded the content, you would see it and maybe want to donate. Granted maybe some of them want to be self serving but it's doing something. I don't always support that but I support the result that comes from someone getting some assistance.

The whole "just do it and don't record it" stuff is all fine, but the fact that it brings attention to causes and places is a great thing. If none of this was recorded, none of this would happen at this level. Also, Mr. Beast spends most of his $ on helping others, food banks, creating his videos and many more things.. Many may see it as self-serving, but if you had the $ and you could do this you would also record it so you could get it out there and have more people with the $ offering to help others that need help. Yes, there are some that are self-serving, but you can't judge the whole group of them based on a small amount of them being self-serving. The end result here is that MANY people that would never have gotten the help actually got help.
@selenayates2256 Жыл бұрын
I don’t see nothing wrong with these. Yes, they are recording people. But 99% of the time, after watching these, I feel good. Makes a person not feel so alone. Make you see that in this crazy world today, we still have a little humanity in the world. Also you can’t judge a person by one video. After he helped that man into a hotel. He helped him get a job, and started a go fund me to help him get into a house. Also some of these are being recorded because that is how they spread awareness and get the money donated to help these people.

Honestly, after about 4 minutes into this video, I immediately was struggling to watch the rest of this video. I could immediately see the biases from every person here after Mr. Beast & MD Motivator, & I guarantee those biases come from them not knowing Mr. Beast or MD outside of the video. If they took the chance to watch any podcasts or video outside of their usual content, they would know why these guys do what they do, and that they are genuinely good people trying to do good. When you watch positive things, it makes you feel positive. Also, I love how the younger reactors loved Mr. Beast but hated on MD, & the older reactors hated on Mr. Beast but loved MD. I found that interesting to me because in reality, they do about the same thing when it comes to the philanthropy/positive videos except Mr. Beast has a bigger budget and does it on a bigger scale. Literally the only difference., and I noticed that throughout the video that some of the reactors would say self-serving or social good simply because of the production quality, which I also find very interesting. Overall, I think the biggest complaint that comes with these types of videos is always, "Why do you need to film yourself doing something good? You don't need to film it," and honestly, I think some people just want to film themselves doing something good because they are tired of seeing negative things in the world. There are definitely some creators that make this content for self-serving reasons, but I think unless you get to know the person behind the camera and learn about their motives and how they even began creating this type of content, you can only give your opinion based on assumptions, and that is what I saw really during this whole video from the reactors.

Fixed income here but I'll donate winter coats every couple years, donate gently used clothing and shoes to the homeless and, while I usually don't hand out money, if someone says they're hungry, I'll hit subway, mcd's or wherever. If they say they're hungry, i offer food and they want money instead, I usually pass. That may seem callous but I try not to feed addictions.

The right answer to all of these is no. They're not self-serving or social good. Their self-serving and social good. They're self-serving and social good. If one person watches that second video and goes and does the same thing then this man has doubled the social good he's done, roughly. Now, if this whole "let's all judge and shame charity on the internet" trend had gotten to him, and he didn't post it, it certainly wouldn't have. I get it. Some people do this shit and they clearly don't really care about anything but clout. I agree it's gross. I also think they should post as much of it as they can, cuz they're still helping people and they're still showing other people that they have the power to help other people. In fact, I think the main overall negative thing going on with all of this, in the context of this video, is that some people actually may be discouraged, and less people may find help.

Their reasons for doing so was he shouldn’t film something like curing a 1000 people of blindness even though he clearly didn’t show all 1000 so clearly they only recorded those that allowed them too but then they immediately back pedal with MD motivator because “He invited them” with the camera that’s clearly far away even though his video earns him lots of money and he didn’t spend a thing while mr beast spent so much and brought a lot of attention to a problem that at least I wasn’t aware of. I'm convinced that the reactors in this video are either being told what to say and/or are just talking out of their ass just so the video will seem more interesting and have more interaction. Because no way are KZbinrs going to constantly say "self serving because they video it" when they know damn well that to be able to donate and do the acts of service they do, etc. they need money and that money comes from the videos that these creators make. It's common sense. 🤦🏻♀️

@elizabethlovett4318 Жыл бұрын
I agree that content creators who make videos like that are largely self-serving simply based on them recording it. I also think that recording it and having it on the internet spreads awareness of problems in society that others who aren't experiencing it, don't know about. Social media makes that easier to be in our own bubble, but the internet is also the one thing that has widely spread accurate information on important things that seem small but make a difference. If those content creators would inform viewers how they can help in any way or give a few ideas for causes they care about while not giving the impression that it's a quick fix, I'd be all for it even if some of them are most self-serving. They're still doing more than any politician who have forgotten they're public servants who serve the people who work for the people. Another thing I don't like that no one else has mentioned is some of those youtubers give viewers the idea that you have to be rich to do something with meaning or contribute to a good cause. That's why I think it's important for youtubers to be informative on how the viewers can be more helpful even if they don't have the money to spare.

People don't understand that Mr Beast wouldn't have the $ to give if it wasn't recorded. The sponsers of his videos is where gets all the $ to give away & do all he does! If he doesn't record, he doesn't get the sponsers, thus he has no $ to be given away!
@hayleymariemills Жыл бұрын
Also, Mr. Beast gives off camera. And he donates & raises money for charities, like the whole ocean cleanup charity, which also brings much awareness!

As someone who donates to go fund me campaigns, I appreciate Aaron documenting the funding going to use. It’s accountability and demonstrating impact for donors.

Mr beast literally spends thousands and millions of dollars that he doesn’t give 2 sh!ts about just to help people around the world MD motivator literally spends his day just helping people mentally that’s not something so one would do if they are self serving Danny Duncan literally took multiple men who bust their asses just for money on a vacation so they can take a break and be more than likely have them money jimmy dart literally helps homeless people get cars and apartments do they can restart on their lives “ it’s self serving because they record and that makes them looks good🤓” no they are recording it and put it out to bring awareness to real things like homelessness, people that are not well mentally and a lot of stuff they want to show them doing good so other will do something good even if it’s the bare minimum

@@yoonikekeke9299true but also op has a point there’s a clear defined line between social good n self serving and many reactors in this video clearly didn’t know what that line was

Controversial question: Are all good deeds self-serving (because the end is that doing it makes you feel fulfilled and good)?
@BeSkeptical851 Жыл бұрын
As long as the person is not profiting from it then it's fine. Mr. Beast is doing great work. I just wish there is more transparency as far as how much he makes from those videos and how much he puts back in. There is a fine line between really wanting to help and being in it because you can get something out of it (ex. tax write-offs, good PR, etc.).

EVERYTHING we all like to do is self serving. And that is not a problem. Even if what makes you happy is the feeling of helping someone.. That is self serving.

How can they say the lady sitting at the booth recording feeding the homeless good but then the next guy doing the same thing is self serving pretty that’s hypothetical. The lady is just as self serving she’s doing it to make herself look good… straight up
@MsKeylas Жыл бұрын
what you meant is hypocritical not hypothetical which means in theory . But in regards to subject I agree. It is kind of weird that they are praising some while chastising and criticizing others when it is in essence same thing. Helping those in need.

Some of these people are recording not to be self serving but to show awareness of what a little kindness does or where your money could be better spent.

They can definitely be self serving but it sounds like they are receiving money from the public. People sometimes want to see who/what they are investing in and what for!

If you pick one of these KZbinrs as charitable or self-serving, you need to pick all of them the same or you are just a big hypocrite.

The fact that some thought danny duncan was a social good because he “makes other kind of videos.” Whereas the mdmotivator and jimmy darts are actively raising money and awareness and continuing to help people yet are self serving? It really shows many of the react cast are out of touch with reality.

I know jacksons point I think thts how his name is spelled but when u put tgese good deeds on the internet it actually helps people to actually realize these things do happen many people who r rich think tht everyone is like them but when they see these videos due to youtube they learn tht they were in their bubble some little kids might l3arn tht they could do something to help people as they will learn the issues portrayed in society as a whole. I believe tht sometimes the big dogs need to do these things as many kids watch them and will be inspired by them to do good😊

These YTbers film the content they do because that's how they raise the money necessary for their philanthropy. MrBeast is the closest thing we have to a force for good on this Earth., he gave close to 5M meals, fed 300K people to date and gave $3M to Ukrainians refugees and not just thought and prayers.
@jerrythealien9106 Жыл бұрын
He also did that planting a tree thing
@CasperGhost72 Жыл бұрын
He did the 20 million trees and he did the ocean clean up. He has to record to earn the money to do these things. He lives a very simple life otherwise. Not like David Dobrick living in a huge house. Jimmy is social good period. He shows people things that are wrong with this world. He has so many followers its easier for him to raise money for projects. Not making the same people donate each time.

There are some KZbinrs who pretend to be kind when really their not. 🍵 The KZbin channels I really watch are Korean Englishman/Jolly, Try Guys, Watcher, mainly ones that feature food content, comedy or Pokémon anime.

Danny Duncan paid the workers at the end about 400 a piece or more. I think yall just like to sit on your soap box. I dont know who came up with this video idea but it was not a good decision.

Not only does he pay the people he picks up, he also went to Florida after the hurricane and help thousands of people whether it was just some food and water or money to get a new roof over there head. He does KZbin because it is a money profit for him, but he does care for other people too, in general Danny is just a heart felt guy in the end!
