​@@tw4943they have certificates but not in the normal sense. They just mean you finished the course. There are sources online to help with Job placement tho. And a lot of certs you can get by going to to the website of the respective company and take a test for a fee.

You can access it through your library for free depending on the libraries that you have in your area. Libraries also have free coding classes too but you won't get a certification.

I’d recommend people watch the course previews before you buy. To me, Udemy is a poor man’s Coursera.

Who issues the certificates once you complete the course? The instructor? and if the instructor why would it hold weight? Meaning, why would an employer take Udemy courses seriously where as if you took a course with Comptia they would? I'm super confused any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Instructor doesn't issue certificates, Udemy does, and no serious employer accepts Udemy course as any valid certification. It's just a truth

Sure, a Udemy certificate means nothing on paper, but the ability to purchase very structured courses that took the course creators months to put together for only $20 is incredible. If a $20 course helps you take your craft to the next level improve your portfolio to make your work attractive to employers, I would say that is worth WAY more then a $30k communications degree.

Lol yeah, people overly critique you for what sources you’re educating yourself from, but no one bats an eye when you eat a tub of ice cream every weekend lol. I’m getting the $20 per month plan ($240/year). If it was $100 per month, I’d still consider it a good deal as long as you don’t become smarter than the people teaching you which I don’t think can happen with the abundance of new courses coming out all the time.

I'm taking the acting masterclass, but the bizarre thing is that the instructor has no name, no identity, no credentials, no credits--or maybe he does, but Udemy has not revealed this, and it's impossible to contact them to ask who he is and why he is qualified to tach a "masterclass," which is in fact a beginner's class. Luckily the course is so cheap, it's not worth pursuing the answers to these very basic questions.

You got the last part absolutely right. That's the whole point of Udemy. As for the word “Masterclass”. Today that word doesn't really mean anything and it's basically a synonym of “Course”.
