I disagree, I got them on discount and they're so uncomfortable. Whenever I took even the smallest bit of impact I would get extreme foot cramps. It would also really hurt while I was kickflipping and it made it so much harder to flick and land. I don't recommend these even at a discounted price

Those insoles are intentionally sticky, it’s a thing that they put on the AVE and a couple other skate builds. We don’t sell a ton of them in the store I work in, both there are definitely die hard fans of them.

I ride BMX and I love them so far ,so good. I would absolutely recommend a half size larger un̈less you're gonna sk8/ride every single day and stretch them to your feet. Hey then you have costume shoes. Your choice. Definitely recommend

2:52 the insoles are the foam insert in the shoe. The bottom of the shoe is just the "sole." Thanks for reviewing these.

I went through, NB, cons, airwalk, then Vans A.V.E. pros. I look for sales, use trick tape, stick and flick, and gorilla glue to extend the life really well. A.V.E. is all I will skate.

I think the price point is that high because of the mesh and the insole as well as it being a pro model shoe. Anthony Van England has been a skater with Vans for a while and this is his pro model. These are always in my car if I’m try to break new shoes because they’re so comfy and a relief after a while.

I have mixed feelings on the Vans Anthony Van England (AVE)pro. I’ve had 3 pairs, one Red and two Black with White strips. The Black and White didn’t last a week until the rapid weld came off both shoes, so the toe cap was loose and crappy looking. Now my Red ones were amazing I still skate those and trashed the black and whites.

Hey George! Been a while, haha, but great video as usual. Yeah, I pretty much agree with your take on them, when they first came out (Back when I was working at Vans) I thought it was a little iffy and to cringe (the white colorway with the opaque blue). But once they came out with the black I was slightly swaying to it. I heard from a few people they last a little longer than the regular shoes but y'know, in the end, it's prolly cheaper to stick with the slightly better-priced shoes you know you like. But id be interested to see if you keep up wearing them and update how they're holding up. Cheers and hope you're doing well man! Otis

I noticed you were implementing what you were saying into your last video with your skating in that session. My range for buying skate shoes is 65-75 bucks. I personally beleive why pay 30 or 40 bucks more for skate shoes when I I can pay 30 or 40 bucks less for it to pursue the same purpose.

The aves are probably my go to just because of the durability. Both pairs I’ve had lasted me more than 2-3 months which is great for me, I think it may have something to do with the fact that the stitching isn’t exposed

tbh i owned both the chima pro and the ave pro and i kind of prefer the ave pro. Btw i got the ave pro for 50bucks with a discount and i'm really happy with how they feel. I really like the sole its so comfortable and they last rlly long and i recommend those. However, i don't know if i would have bought them for 100. So if you find them with a discount, i defenitely recommend you buying them. PS: it's my personnal point of view

Well cupsole is the construction, then you need to factor the material which is used and the thickness of the sole. Some cupsoles are really not designed for support but for boardfeel like Adidas Puig or most Lakai cupsole. Usually I buy cupsole shoes and put my insole in it to add some cushion.

Try the Nike SB Shane 😉 I like them, snug, good board feel, good heel dampening with some air cushioning, toe dampening good/ok. They seem to be better then the SB Janoski (what I heard from other skaters), but I like the look of the Janoski a bit better…

I skated with the white versions of these shoes (got em on sale, luckily) but I found that they’re fine for flat ground, after you break em in a little bit, they’re great for vert, and the top of the toes ripped so quickly, from a day of practicing Casper stalls 🤔? I’d see spending that much if I did more vert skating, but normally that’s still pretty pricey for how I skate 🤔? But that’s just my thoughts, from how I skate🙃? Soup’r comfy, though 😌! So I guess it’s up to you to give em a test, too (if you also luck into a pair being on sale or do a good bit of vert skating😅)?
