Proverbs 29:18 is talking about the law. The full verse says, "Where there is no vision, the people are unrestrained, But happy is he who keeps the law." Habakkuk was commanded to write down a literal vision that God was showing him. Jesus was quoting the inspired word of God, the truth. The full verse of Proverbs 23:7 says, "For as he thinks within himself, so he is. He says to you, 'Eat and drink!' But his heart is not with you." This scripture is talking about a man who says something contrary to what's in his heart.

Terri I’m so glad you said it’s biblical because my husband and I have been working on starting a company for the last eight months to teach children how to have a vision and I don’t want to do anything that’s not biblical so I believe our business will prosper because we are doing what the Lord said🙏🏻💛

Proverbs 29:18 is talking about no vision of the Word. Where there is no priest (preacher, pastor, minister) to teach and expound the good knowledge of the Lord, the people perish. They are stripped of there armor and so are exposed to danger. They are scattered like sheep for a want of a shepard to teach the truth of the Word.

I guess it depends on how much of an idol you make out of it. That's why in the word it says to not make a graven image... But it also depends on your walk with God.

It's dangerous to be making up scriptures that don't exist, Terri. [Rom 10:17 NIV] 17 Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ.

Proverbs 23:7 in context: [Pro 23:6-8 KJV] 6 Eat thou not the bread of [him that hath] an evil eye, neither desire thou his dainty meats: 7 For as he thinketh in his heart, so [is] he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart [is] not with thee. 8 The morsel [which] thou hast eaten shalt thou vomit up, and lose thy sweet words. NEVER read ONLY ONE Bible verse. Always read in context for the meaning that God intended.
