A tip for the girls hair. In addition to conditioner when you shampoo, get some leave in conditioning spray. Dampen the hair and comb the conditioner into it. If it still looks frizzy then dampen it a bit more. The tangles are actually setting the frizz into place and wetting it will straighten it out again. Never let wet hair dry tangled and always brush it through before bed. It it gets tangled a lot at night then put it up in a scrunchy at night. Also make sure to rinse their hair with clear water after the pool. And if you can put a little leave in conditioner after the pool too, especially until it is well conditioned again.

Skyler, watch a KZbin video on little girl hairstyles. Learn to braid. I just taught my 8 year-old Granddaughter. I started out & she was struggling but then I decided to give her 3 different colors of yarn to help her “see” which strand she needed to be putting over the middle strand next. In about 15 seconds it all made sense & she can braid now. Putting her hair in a ponytail & then braiding it is easy to do & her hair will look nice. I agree with the others who said use conditioner after washing. In addition, buy a spray bottle that mists & also some spray-on detangler to use for when her hair is dry.

Conditioner every time. Let it sit on the ends while you're doing body wash. Longer the better. And she's probably ready for grown up conditioner. I recommend Redkin So Soft or Original Sprout Deep Conditioner. A little pricy, but on a small head of hair, a bottle lasts a long time. Then we use a little Raw Sugar Kids Leave in Cream too. We also use a "Wet Brush". Helps so much

It is also important to remember to only condition from mid hair shaft to the ends. Also make sure you are purchasing any professional products from your hairstylist. If you pick up it up at Target, or anywhere else it can be really old product that doesn't work well anymore and it can even be replaced by something else entirely.

If you are swimming a lot in a chlorine pool, baking soda is a good way to strip the chemicals off your hair so the conditioner can do its job. After you make the hair wet, rub baking soda into the hair and let set about a minute. Rinse and shampoo and condition as normal.
