I’m 60 (I know, you’re wondering what the heck I’m doing here). I had my two sons in the late 90s, and listening to you talk about parenting and showing the most recent baby gear is like tuning in to a foreign film. 😂 Sleep Pod? I suppose we could have set up my husband’s Army pup tent. Four-month sleep regression? I just remember several years of sleep *deprivation* for myself. It’s wild the things that let you know you’re old now. I love your energy and optimism and humor. I can only offer that you will all survive. (Trust me - I survived riding in the back of pickup trucks and drinking from garden hoses.) P.S. The one thing that hasn’t changed is postpartum emotional stuff. Again, if you can turn to people who love you, you will survive it. ❤

I think there’s also a locality thing happening because a lot of women in Utah get work done so it’s hard to know what a human looks like when they’re just a regular person. People told me this when my first baby was not sleeping and it made me so depressed! In my experience it is NOT TRUE! Parenting is difficult in every stage, but it’s much easier when your kids learn to sleep. I’m a whole different person when I sleep at night and that makes any parenting challenge easier. Parents often forget this when their kids get older. Just my two cents.
@KristinWeltonАй бұрын
@ Well said! I remember when my daughter was an infant, she wouldn’t sleep if she was put down in her crib. Literally, the minute I walked away, she would wake up and cry. I remember being so tired and feeling helpless, that I gave up and brought her to bed with me. I don’t regret it for a second. We do what we have to do because we need our sleep to function in life. 💕

Mom of 5 here... 2 boys, 3 girls and I know alot of people say this, that after 3, another one is just another one cause it's already crazy anyway. But I personally didn't find it that way. Adding the 4th and the 5th was another crazy adjustment, just like the others. 😅 Maybe it's circumstances or maybe I just take change hard, I don't know... Anyway, that was just my own experience. I'm glad others don't find it that way.

Mom of six reporting in- I agree. After three it doesn’t matter. You are already juggling. The older ones turn out to be sweet little helpers and they also help with companionship for each other. I think the third baby is the hardest. I heard this from other mothers after my third and it was true for me too. I had five babies and it was a much easier transition with both of them. I’m glad you are not going to decide your family’s future during this really rough period. The 5 S’s from the Happiest Baby on the Block was a life saver with my fussy third. Now I can literally soothe any fussy baby so long as it’s not fussing for milk.

I’m a mom of three, too. Every age has its challenges and amazing moments. And where some things get easier (my kids do their own laundry and bake us cookies), others get trickier (high school math gets REAL). It does go away for the most part but I realized they are worse when I lack sleep and overwhelmed.
@Sylvainjose-satoyumiyato25 күн бұрын
@sand-raw8736 Typically, from what I've heard, it's of either hurting the baby yourself (purposefully or accidentally) or loved ones hurting the baby. Just remember eventually everyone starts to go to school, which is both amazing and wonderful 😢 The forced schedule is great, but then you don’t get to do whatever you want whenever you want. Life changes so fast. Just never make a final decision before your specific stage is over ❤ Also 4-5 kids is basically the same, you still need a Van, everyone looks at you BUT most of the time you get lucky enough to have at least 2 boys or girls. That was important to me. It took me 5 kiddos to get 2 boys.

As a mom of 6 (10 and younger) I have to say that it’s the BEST thing ever, I love it and I can’t imagine how empty my life would be without any one of them. BUT, everyone is so different. Moms are different, kids are different and life is different. My husband makes good money which allows me to be a SAHM and before we got married we both knew we wanted a big family. It’s a sacrifice for sure but anything you choose comes with sacrificing everything else that you don’t choose. Not everyone can or wants to and you have to want it. When I die I love that I am leaving this world with something and there is nothing more fulfilling that watching them grow, learn, do hard things and conquering challenges. My parents, grandparents and myself all feel like their kids have been their greatest blessing and accomplishment.

Jane I love your videos so much! If I had to choose just one channel to watch it would be you guys! Thank you for showing the struggles as well as the joys of being a mom! You make it look effortless. I’m 33 with an 8 year old and 6 month old and the sleep deprivation is killing me lol! I would love to have a third but I already feel like I’m drowning some days lol 😅

I am SO glad I’ve been able to find you. Your light shines bright and I’m concerned that you may have gotten some unfriendly comments on your posts. Girl PLEASE!!! This is what God has in store for you. Rebuke those comments and keep your faith. You are very well spoken & extremely funny. Keep doing what you’re doing. ❤❤❤

Three kids gets easier. Mine are almost 12, 15 and 16, I feel like they all have their own lives now, I miss the days when they were little, we just decided to have our fourth 😳 pray for me 😆

For the wall space that you were worried about because the gallery wall is near it, I feel like it would really tie everything together to have something there! Have you considered 3-4 pictures of your family vertically positioned on the wall? If you don't want to do that, you could always add another heatless curler (tree) in that space.
@sabrinal3809Ай бұрын
I was thinking the same thing! It would NOT be too much to do something on that wall. (Tree comment-funny! 😂) Love the gallery! Your home is looking great! ❤

Three kids IS so hard. My standard for a clean house altered drastically from 2 kids to 3. But when my youngest turned three last year, everything got so much easier. If I had known just one year before I wouldn't have despaired so much. I couldn't even go to the local pool with three kids, it was just too much chaos and stress, but once he turned three it all became so much easier. So there's hope!!

I really loved the statement that she had 10 siblings and it was wild and fun. I had 4 siblings and I wish I had more. If one day I will be a mother, I want to give my kids a lot of siblings, it makes life so fun and the family is big and holidays are amazing.

FOUR babies is SO FUN!!!! ❤❤❤❤ We had our 4 in 3.5 years (with twins) and it was wild but now it’s the BEST!!! They’re now 11 and under and they’re all besties and into the same things. 🥰

Thank you so much for your message about motherhood even if you are struggling a bit As married woman who did not succeed with having children I am quite pissed when I hear mother complaining I know it is a hard role but believe me it is harder when you suffer from fertility issue and you are littarely craving babies Children are blessing and who are not receiving this blessing can measure how much it is a gift 🎁
@mistymoments89Ай бұрын
My heart goes out to you! I pray you can be blessed in other ways! 🙏❤️

So only you can complain? Got it. We just have to enjoy every moment and suck it up? It’s people like you who exacerbate post partum depression. I hope you never complain about menopause or anything. Oh you’re complaining about not being able to have kids. Some people didn’t want any and had to because of family/societal pressure. So then you aren’t allowed to complain because at least you’re not fertile right? You never had to worry about conceiving against your will. I’d never say that though. We’re all allowed to complain about things. Wanted or not.

Jane, you kept saying that this video was all over the place, but honestly, it has been one of my favorite vids you've done so far. As a mom of 3, who were born back to back to back. My oldest & middle are 11 months apart, & my middle & youngest are 16 months apart...I GET IT! I had all 3 of my kids by the time I was 22. I also, married young. We've been married now for 23 years. All of my babies are grown adults. It goes by SO FAST, as I'm sure you see! I love watching your vlogs because you remind me of myself when my 3 were little & running around. You're an amazing mom & you're doing an amazing job. You have a beautiful family. Sending all my xoxo's from Florida! -Kristi
