To play devil's advocate . It is easy to say things like "we should fund all science more", but as someone who works in the environmental field, often times there is a limited budget and choices have to be made. Space is "cool" and bipartisan, NASA has one of the most favorable public opinions. So when NASA wants budget for space things it is easier for them to get it. Then when another agency wants money for an envionmental study or carbon capture project it is met with hostility from one side and it is often not passed or passed in a gutted form. So while I wouldn't say space exploration is a waste of money I don't think its necessarily wrong to say there is an argument that those funds could be better spent on the benefit of humanity.

The best example of an anime flopping due to animation is Beserk. One of the greatest stories of all time (not that the adaptation really did it justice) and it flopped horrendously mostly due to the animation. I would also say though, Prison School had incredible animation that still stand up today and its a super popular show. You could argue that its the lewdness of it, but there are shows like High School DxD that pretty much every anime fan has at least heard of or attempted to watch.

A lot of people say space exploration is a waste of resources and usually say something "we can be using this money for the public good, solving homelessness, etc" when in reality that money would never go to solve actual issues we have. Most of that money would find its way into the pockets of friends of politicians and billionaires. The rest would just be spread out throughout our bureaucracies. The real reason so many politicians and pundits spread around defunding space exploration is because it shows how effective PUBLIC spending is. They want to get rid of it because it's a constant reminder that their policies of privatizing everything aren't more effective at anything except making their friends money.

Sallad tip: sliced tomato, cucumber and feta cheese:) you can season it or eat it just like that and its amazing plus it takes only 5 min to make! Best part is you can add whatever else you want like lettuce or avocado and its not only customised now but also even more taste and crunch and goodness🥒+🍅+🧀=🥗

I wonder how different these food delivery apps are in Japan, because here in Europe, its very expensive compared to making your own. Diner usually involves ordering a minimum of 20 dollars, where I pay 5 or 6 if I make it myself. Also not that many healthy options here either.

one time they said it's not expensive at all. You get the food delivered and a meal costs around 10€ I think they said. With Uber! Normal pizza delivery on the other hand is pretty expensive in Japan.

I don't think ill ever understand people's criticism of early One Piece animation while it is older, it isn't bad at all. It's obviously not on the same level as anything current but saying it's bad is actually just wrong and feels like something a teenager who has only seen current shonen would say. I think the animation completely mirrors the manga in every way that matters and I'd honestly argue that the newer One Piece having way better (or newer) animation might be worse if they make it too current. I'm still excited for it because eventually it will fix the pacing issues later on down the line when I'm 50 or some shit lol. I'm not saying they specifically called it bad but they implied it was an issue in some way which I find very dumb. Edit: this isn't an attack on anyone who just got into anime but just that people who are newer tend to have that opinion. Also this comment comes off more aggressive than I intended, it was just something I needed to express somewhere in some form. No hate to Trash Taste (aka the best podcast hands down)

I reread the early manga recently and it looks so fucking good. The early anime does not compare. Not bad, though. I’d say the problem with One Piece is that its animation improved slower than the industry standard.

As someone very interested in sexuality... yes we were having the porn discussion 15 years ago. And that was only just as KZbin was going massive and smart phones were coming into existence. So... the problem is not that its too available. The issue is people don't see it as something which *can* have negative effects or dismiss that as puritanical without taking it seriously. Or they didn't talk about it at all. Now at least we can have these discussions and equate adult content with drinking, smoking, gambling, coffee, and anything else you can get addicted to.

It started to get hype after episode 7-10. Because people get hyped of the fights against demons. I started watching it because I saw a clip of it and it was amazing. I believe that what started the Frieren hype. And after starting it, people started to realize how great the story is.

@@Ritsu362 I mean, Demon Slayer became popular after episode 19. MHA wasnt really that popular in S1, and JJK was like this cool new thing that manga readers were talking about for like the 1st 15 episodes of S1. There are always exceptions like AoT or SAO ofcourse.
