To play devil's advocate . It is easy to say things like "we should fund all science more", but as someone who works in the environmental field, often times there is a limited budget and choices have to be made. Space is "cool" and bipartisan, NASA has one of the most favorable public opinions. So when NASA wants budget for space things it is easier for them to get it. Then when another agency wants money for an envionmental study or carbon capture project it is met with hostility from one side and it is often not passed or passed in a gutted form. So while I wouldn't say space exploration is a waste of money I don't think its necessarily wrong to say there is an argument that those funds could be better spent on the benefit of humanity.

A lot of people say space exploration is a waste of resources and usually say something "we can be using this money for the public good, solving homelessness, etc" when in reality that money would never go to solve actual issues we have. Most of that money would find its way into the pockets of friends of politicians and billionaires. The rest would just be spread out throughout our bureaucracies. The real reason so many politicians and pundits spread around defunding space exploration is because it shows how effective PUBLIC spending is. They want to get rid of it because it's a constant reminder that their policies of privatizing everything aren't more effective at anything except making their friends money.

I don't think ill ever understand people's criticism of early One Piece animation while it is older, it isn't bad at all. It's obviously not on the same level as anything current but saying it's bad is actually just wrong and feels like something a teenager who has only seen current shonen would say. I think the animation completely mirrors the manga in every way that matters and I'd honestly argue that the newer One Piece having way better (or newer) animation might be worse if they make it too current. I'm still excited for it because eventually it will fix the pacing issues later on down the line when I'm 50 or some shit lol. I'm not saying they specifically called it bad but they implied it was an issue in some way which I find very dumb. Edit: this isn't an attack on anyone who just got into anime but just that people who are newer tend to have that opinion. Also this comment comes off more aggressive than I intended, it was just something I needed to express somewhere in some form. No hate to Trash Taste (aka the best podcast hands down)

Other things space exploration is responsible for making: 3/4 of vitamin supplements, resistant based exercise machines, Velcro, bungie cords, liquid tight seals, and osteoporosis treatments. the economy benefits from pumping money into NASA. I think Bill Nye said it was something like $1 per every 25 cents profit from investing into NASA.

Jujutsu Keisen is more than just the animation, Joey. It does basic shonen story and character writing real well.

I’m surprised Frieren is considered mega popular. I remember when people were saying “Frieren who??” And had no idea about the show even when it had like 6 episodes out lol

It started to get hype after episode 7-10. Because people get hyped of the fights against demons. I started watching it because I saw a clip of it and it was amazing. I believe that what started the Frieren hype. And after starting it, people started to realize how great the story is.

Popularity needs time to build up. Except very few exceptions most shows that are now giga popular started slowly.

@@erwindavid2859 yeah, that’s exactly when it really started to get peoples attention. I feel kinda cool for actually giving a watch earlier, but it was From people having nothing but good things to say about ep 1 and 2. Although Its nothing compared to the manga only lads lol

@@RaiyanReetom it’s pretty cool to see a legend in the making. Especially when it just happens like overnight. I feel it’s kind of a rare for a show to just blow up midway like Frieren, or maybe my memory is just bad and it happens all the time lmao

@@Ritsu362 I mean, Demon Slayer became popular after episode 19. MHA wasnt really that popular in S1, and JJK was like this cool new thing that manga readers were talking about for like the 1st 15 episodes of S1. There are always exceptions like AoT or SAO ofcourse.
