You guys can also try a weighted blanket with Shine when he goes to sleep or a heated stuffed animal or a miniature weighted blanket. You can heat these in the microwave. He may need to feel heat and pressure that comes from sleeping next to y’all. These two items provide this while he is sleeping in his own bed.

@jqf284 I've worked with kids for 20 plus years in group homes and residential facilities. These are some of the tools we used for kiddos that had a difficult time sleeping through the night and in their rooms by themselves. I hope it works for you too!

4:13 yall will never have peace until you're firm with the bedtime rules 😂. It's going to be hard, it's going to be issues, but they'll never get better if you don't do the work. He now knows he can manipulate the situation. I know the word "manipulate" sounds harsh, but that's what toddlers do (don't look at it from the adult perspective of the word, per se). The initial transition is going to be hard but you have to be strict to get it to stick. It will be hard on yall as well because you'll have to deal with it and it'll affect your sleep as well, but it'll be worth it. Sometimes it's harder when they get older. One thing Supernanny did really well was the room transitions. I'm a single parent and it was a little harder to transition my kids because I waited too long. It'll be ok, and they'll be ok and sleep better once they're settled in.
