It's crazy because a jumper isn't a natural gift like athleticism or court vision. It's totally improvable. We've seen guys like J Kidd, Lebron, Blake Griffin, Brook Lopez, just to name a few become much better shooters later on in their careers but it seems like younger guys just don't want to do it. They must all be convinced they don't need it even though a blind hoops fan could tell a guy like Thompson that if he works on his jumper every day then he could become one of the best basketball players of his era, he's that good at everything else.

Reminds me of Kuminga where if a team doesn’t match their athletic driving ability, they look like a superstar. But when the other team matches up well, they are just is a negative on offense. If you’re not good enough to be a first option, and you’re not big enough to be a rim protector, you really need to have a jumper. Some team is bound to overpay these guys because they over estimate their potential without a jumper. They’ll put up good numbers. But come playoff time their teams will struggle with them in.

Its a key factor and you need to be insanely dominant in the paint like 20ppg in the paint unstoppable or just get a jumpshot. Hes gonna be just like ben if he doesnt get one no matter how good he is teams will just abuse his main weakness like they tried to do with giannis and did with ben why do we always do this?
