Love this interview. It was very interesting finding out how the awards are judged. I would've liked to know if they provide any guidance to the judges on how to judge or what they expect the judges to do when judging? And I would've liked to know how the judges are selected? Also, when are they creating and Independent Bottler category. :) lol. Seeing people excited about Canadian Whisky is awesome. We need more of this, we need more Canadians drinking and appreciating Canadian Whisky and visiting Canadian distilleries. I'm not entirely sure that we need to buy back people who enjoy scotch. I say make great Canadian Whisky and they will enjoy it or they won't. There is an endless supply of enthusiasts out there. Love seeing the wide range of distilleries and whiskies on the table. Speaking of which ... all your words over Whisky For Us are appreciated immensely. I can't say how much, It's immeasurable to me. We knew we had to spend money on good wood and present an alternative view on the spirit for Whisky For Us. Still Waters does all bourbon casks, so we knew we were going to do something different. We didn't initially intend for Amburana to be that thing, but first Canadian focused Independent Bottler, First Canadian SIngle Malt finished in Amburana. Seemed like a match made in heaven. Obviously we still have the Amburana cask, so there will be more Amburana finishes coming, hopefully with a more deft touch though especially as the cask tires out a bit. We will also have some other exciting distilleries and casks on the horizon. Loved watching this interview, also hearing about the old Forty Creek, I'm sure I would've loved that Forty Creek. Looking forward to the next time you have Davin on.

Sounds like Rob needs to register a trademark and start certifying whiskies. ;)

Not a bad idea but I think it’s important we unit and when money is involved that becomes more difficult

@@WhiskyInThe6 If the goal of the mark is to certify quality, leaving it to the honour system isn't going to achieve that. Supervision, testing, some sort of oversight is needed to make sure it's not abused.
