The mistake you made was getting hung up on crushes. Don't waste more time than you need to, on only one girl. You need to play the numbers game. Every guy has a hit ratio. Let's say your hit ratio is 1 in 100, then to smash 10 girls, you need to interact with 1000 girls. And you can't do that if you're wasting all your time on one you're not even smashing. Also, you get into more of a flow when you're talking to multiple girls, as opposed to just one girl. I personally just make conversation wherever I can as I go through life, with anyone, with the main purpose of simply having an enjoyable conversation. E.g. The cashier, some random person in a queue, the security guard, or a hot girl also waiting for her car at a car wash, etc. I don't give the impression that I'm looking for anything other than an enjoyable conversation. The more you do something, the better you get at it. If it's a girl you're talking to, you'll quickly realize if she likes you. Then you can find some reason to give or take a number. If a girl seems even slightly not that into you, just move on. Also don't waste time on a girl if she seems like she's avoiding any kind of intimate behavior, especially if she's "trying not not look like a hoe". When girls are really into you, they make short sighted decisions...any kind of farsighted behavior means she's not that into you, which means you're wasting your time.

My grandfather had 6 baby mamas that we know of. My dad learned quite a few of his techniques, but was a comitted husband who only cheated once (and married her). What I never understood about him was something this episode explains: when we went out and about, he might notice a pretty girl and make a joke with me about her ass or something, but that was it. He was clearly disinterested, even when they sent him choosing signals. When my step mom was around though? He'd flirt like crazy. Classy, but flirty. I understand now he was showing her he had the OPTION available to him, even though he never had the inclination to take it. Still learning from him, even after he's passed. Thanks for shedding light on that lesson.
