Can a woman be a church planter? To clarify, I’m not asking if she should be a lead pastor. I’m wondering about the specifics of church planting and what exactly it entails. If a woman has a vision for a church, and has been blessed with exceptional leadership and organizational skills, could she scout out an area, head hunt for a lead pastor, and then bring him on board to plant a church in his area? I’m considering pursuing schooling in this area, but I want to be sure this would be an appropriate area for a woman with this skill set and vision. What are your thoughts? Is church planting traditionally done in a different way?

I love that. Usually church planters have to get funded somehow. Usually self-funded or through denominations. But if you can get the funding, I think that would be great for the kingdom.

I know this comment is late, but perhaps you could do a Biblical study in this area. Look at the churches in the book of Acts and if there are any hints to how they got started. Look at the women Paul refers to as co-workers or the women who hosted churches in their homes and figure out how that fits with the requirements for church elders. Look at the role of Priscilla and Aquila as ministry partners of Paul
