Hi Anne! I'm so glad you liked the video and the lighting. I watched the video afterward and I wasn't keen on it, but good to know it came through ok for the viewers. Willy Nilly is gaining popularity by the minute! Thanks so much for watching.

Love this tie option and love that the tie is still attached and not in the way when opening the journal. Never seen it done before.❤

Thanks! I'm so glad you liked it! 😊 It's my go to for journal closures. A few years ago, when I figured this out (after trying a bunch of different closures) I was so happy to have such an easy solution and I've been using it ever since!

Kathy, maybe start making larger spines. ❤
@ravenvintageca10 күн бұрын
You would think that would work! LOL! This little book is certainly a much smaller spine than from what I usually make. My go to is 1.75 to 2 inch. It's starting to feel like the "use a smaller plate" theory!

@ I remembered after I posted that this was an altered book. Oops. I make my journals same as you. Put in pockets and trims and then decorate. When I decorate I add some items to each signature as I go. But over stuffing is a reality. lol.

New subscriber 👋 Great video 🫶🏻 I am a Willy nilly decorator. I found the same, that when I worked from front to back, my journal became to thick and it became a battle when I got to the end, it was out of control and would not even close properly. I am an extreme detailed decorator, so I try to add the same amount of very decorated pages first through each signature. Then I add pages for just journaling, writing, and interactive pages with like dried flowers and things. I enjoy your Instagram posts and all the great advice and ideas. Appreciate you. Thank you. Donna 😊❤️

Great video! And the angle is ok for me 😊. I do not really decorate from front to back, i don't know why but it really overwelms me that way. What i tend to do, is i decorate one page at a time in each signature. For exemple, i try to put a ruffle on one page in each signature, and then a pocket in each signature, etc... I helps me "balance" my decorations through out the entire journal. I used to decorate page by page, from front to back, but i am a slow crafter (or a proCRAFTtinator as i like to call myself), and sometimes, i do not work in a journal for some time... by the time i start decorating it again, somehow my mood could be different (i could be into a different color for example, of i could be more into stencils...), and so in the end, my journals would end up looking kind of weird... I would have a different style in the first pages then from the last pages 🤪

Thanks so much for sharing your approach to decorating! It's really interesting to hear and I am with you on the "balancing". I like to balance my signatures for sure, both the paper types and the embellishments. I love the term procraftinate! Thank you for your feedback on the camera angle. I watched the video and it's just off enough for me to be annoyed so I will go back to the flat lay! Thanks again!

I have a few questions regarding lb of paper you use for the following: What lb do you use for printing Printables for junk journal? What lb do you use for coffee dying? What lb of paper do you use to print ephemera/embellishments on? What lb do you print pockets/tags on? Im new to junk journaling so Im alittle confused with what lb of paper everything gets used? What size are your journals for the most part? I just love your cover and all the papers you decorated. ❤❤❤ Thank you for doing tutorials I know it takes alot of time to record when you are busy creating journals.

@quilts501sa • 2 hours ago What lb do you use for printing Printables for junk journal? ❤️ 70% of the time I use regular 20 lb copy/printer paper. This paper is just fine for printing on both sides. It is the most economical. As a printables designer I use this for all of my test prints. What lb do you use for coffee dying? ❤️ I prefer tea dying but either way, again, I use regular 20 lb copy/printer paper. What lb of paper do you use to print ephemera/embellishments on? ❤️ I use cardstock 80 lb, 90 lb, and 100 lb. It's nice to use a light cards stock for journaling cards and ephemera to add layers to your journal. A thicker journal card is easier to slide into pockets and tucks whereas regular copy paper would buckle and fold. What lb do you print pockets/tags on? ❤️If I am printing tags I would use the cardstock again, but I also use printed copy/printer paper (20 lb) and then glue that onto either a cardstock or file folder. You could also glue regular paper (printed) on cereal box or other box board. Im new to junk journaling so Im alittle confused with what lb of paper everything gets used? ❤️ As a beginner I would just start with regular copy/printer paper and one weight of cardstock, so a 20 lb and a 100 lb. When you are ready to experiment, try new papers to give your junk journals tactile variety. ❤️ For me, as a printables designer, I print A LOT! I use the most economical paper (the 20 lb) for all of my TEST PRINTS. I will then try to use the test prints in my journals. ❤️ I like to use different types of papers in my journals to add variety and dimension. I use a heaver, brighter, smoother paper, a 28 lb, in addition to the 20 lb. I will add just a few specialty papers like vellum or handmade. ❤️ In addition to your printables, add tea-dyed (or coffee), book pages, music sheets, etc. I like to keep a pattern or formula i.e.: • printable • tea dyed • book page • printable • tea dyed • book page REPEAT.... What size are your journals for the most part? ❤️ I love this question! This is one of the reasons I started making printables. My printables are 8.5 x 11 inch and mostly landscape or horizontal designs. I simply fold the printables in half for my signatures. This gives me a 5.5" wide by 8.5" tall journal. About 95% of my journals are 5.5 x 8.5. I do spines from 1.5" to 2". I hope this answers some questions! (Great questions by the way!)

I have an android phone, and creating is a challenge. The screen doesn't rotate for you, unfortunately so if I put my camera like you have now, it the video stays that way, and vise versa. It is very frustrating. I like the way you have you camera facing now, with the natural helping you light up the project.

I have used to have a Samsung Android. I miss it. I am using a Google Pixel 8 now, and it's ok, I just much prefer the Samsung. Do you have the auto-rotate function turned on or off?
@Lori-rr2nb7 күн бұрын
@ravenvintageca my phone is on auto rotate, but the camera doesn't allow that when filming. It's one way or the other.
