Everyone, stop saying "curl your fingers". Curling your fingers helps prevent injuries, however, there is situations where it's best to NOT curl them. First of all, it depends on your morphology. Some people, when they curl their fingers like that, it doesn't make that curve with your hand. Their hand stay flat when they curl it and therefore, it doesn't absorb the shock well, it's uncomfortable, and could do serious damage. Which is why, depending on your morphology, it is sometimes best to not curl your fingers. It really depends on what your most comfortable with, as if you're comfortable, you're less likely to get hurt. Second of all, it depends on what surface you're on. When on concrete or stuff like that, it is best to not curl your fingers as the floor could seriously damage them. Finally, if you're experimented and have always done quads without curling your fingers, and therefore know how to do it without getting hurt, then there's no need for them to suddenly start curling their fingers. This person is experimented and have been doing this for a while. Even if none of my other points stand for them, as they have always been doing it without curling their fingers, it isn't an issue for them. He's not a beginner, he knows how to do it properly and without getting hurt. If not curling his fingers works for him, let him do so, it is fine and sometimes even better depending on the person. I think people usually see quadrobics having their fingers curled up like a paw, but it’s a sport, before it became popular amongst Therians, so i doubt it’s most proper to have their fingers curled up. as a quadrobist, I do highly recommend curling in your fingers as it helps prevent hyperextending them and in my experience, gives better balance EDIT: it is sometimes more comfortable and safe to lay your hands flat. it entirely depends on how YOU feel and what you think would be best for YOU EDIT 2: it is also **in my opinion** better to keep hands flat on pavement to make sure you dont scrape them up badly

ACTUALLY, 🤓Plenty of people have hand shapes where its more comfortable AND safe to have them lay flat! MORE people tend to have fingers more comfortable in a curled shape, but its the opposite for a few. might be the case for this fellow. Usually what’s more comfortable and comes more naturally to the individual is correct, and this guy definitely seems to know what he’s doing. thanks for trying to spread helpful information but this isn’t necessarily correct for everyone!

Why should he curl his fingers? Animals dont screw up their toes. He's using his hands and feet as walking tools just the same way that any other species does. Its unnatural to curl your fingers when your hands can support you fine

Curling your fingers can avoid injuries and many quadbroists recommend it but there was some ties when you don't or shouldn't curl your fingers. Like when there's bumpy rocks, you should either do a flat palm or a claw formation and as long as you don't get yourself hurt to using flat palm, it's okay. But sometimes even people who use flat palm do the paw/curling fingers one sometimes and it also looks more natural and if you jump/pounce while using flat palm you might accidentally land on your fingers and break them
