I can understand his point of view but i really can't agree with it , i think when someone told you that he doesn't want to lose you that doesn't mean that he treats you like an object .. That means that he really gives a value to you as a person and that you are precious to him .. Sometimes that might be a selfish of that person but it means that he really loves you

But I disagree with you, I think what he meant is that by saying "I don't want to lose you", it's like the other person completely disregard his wish, his aspiration and him as a person. While there's nothing wrong with expressing what you feel, I think understanding and respecting one's boundaries is needed in forming healthy relationship. "I don't want to lose you", in this context (dating and relationship culture) is often use to restrict someone in relationship and that's-- I think one of signs of entitlement and unbalanced relationship dynamic.

But let's say if one party is cheating or abusive, then h/she tries to make us feel guilty by saying that when we want to broke the relationship off, then I believe 'Bye, Felicia' would be our appropriate response.

More than solely saying that because you view your partner as an object that phrase is very manipulative. When someone says that to you is most likely because they did something they shouldn’t have and uses that line as an excuse. There’s many ways to show your appreciation to your partner without being possessive. I’m glad he’s mature enough to know that’s a toxic thing to say.

Context is everything though... if you're saying it to a person you love that is doing something dangerous, that phrase would be said out of love and care for the other. I dont think you can say it is an immature/toxic thing to say to someone without knowing the context. I think it could be the best thing to say too

Sarah Yes there are exceptions in some cases but in a normal and healthy relationship that phrase should not come up I mean unless you’re moving to another country or like you said maybe someone has a dangerous job or something. Other wise to say that out of the blue can come from insecurity that may be hiding something deeper like if that person has a reason to think they might lose you because of something they did. Context is key, in some cases it might come out of genuine worry but I do still think that just to blur that out may cause your partner to feel a sense of guilt or pressure and is often used in a very manipulative way. I respect your view and I agree that context plays a part in everything of course 👍

I don’t understand what made him say that but I’m guessing it was after the other person did something wrong. However, I felt that was weird because I always used that in a loving and emotional manner. I even say it to my best friends or nieces , I never want to lose you, I love you. I haven’t done anything wrong to anyone and I’m far from manipulative so I think he has a personal chip with that line. Because I never considered the other person as an object rather than the most valuable being in my life.

Jin Jun Liu in Korea ur like 1 or 2 years older than ur international age but I always thought it was 2 years of a difference

@@jinjunliu2401 I think they mixed korean age and international age hence the confusion. He said he was born in 2000 and he was 20 so he used his international age but she seemed to have used her korean age so she would be 25 in international age, so 5 years older.
