I would suggest that the best phrasing of the question would be "How much luggage (or pieces of luggage) did you bring? I would definitely omit the phrase "with yourself" as both awkward and redundant.

Hi Maddy! Thanks for the "piece of cake" lesson. I would be grateful to you if you could make an extra video with plural and singular nouns. There are a lot of things I want to clarify in my mind. Like an example: You told us "police" is always plural. But I have several times heard native speakers say "police is investigating.....". Why is that? The same happens with other words like "staff". Also, too many times I have read " cheeses", "foods" e.t.c. Thanks a lot!!!!👍

Hi, teacher! Thank you very much for your lessons, they are so good and you make them easier to understand! I would like to ask you something about this video and the first sentence: luggage is an uncountable noun, so we cannot use it in the plural, that's ok. But in this case we also have to change the beginning of the sentence: "How much luggage do you...?" Is this correct? Thank you once more for your help and explanations! Have a nice evening! Edmar, Rio de Janeiro.

Maddy, is that a way to differentiate a noun whether it is singular or plural ? Even uncountable noun from countable ? And there is a theory ( from a grammar book, I have forgotten the title )that cummulative nouns such as : police, team, family , orchestra, s on and so forth CAN BE BOTH SINGULAR AND PLURAL, which DEPENDS to the logic of the verbs , whether the action must be done individually or as a unity, with a semantic agreement. What do you think about this? For example : the orchestra always plays in that hall Right now, the orchestra are tuning their instruments ???
