We answer your Canadian immigration questions. Today we are answering the question of "Am I medically inadmissible to Canada?"
If you want to apply for a Canadian visit visa, study permit, work permit, or permanent residence, you need to ensure that you and any dependents are not inadmissible to Canada. This includes medical inadmissibility.
You could be medical inadmissibility for one of three different reasons such as being a danger to public health, a danger to public safety, or would cause excessive demand on health or social services.
As part of your application for your Canadian visa or permit, you may be required to undergo a medical examination which will be used to assess whether you are medically inadmissible or not.
Medical inadmissibility rules for excessive demand reasons don’t apply to refugees and their dependants, protected persons, or certain people being sponsored by their family, such as dependant children, spouses and common-law partners.
You can read more about these requirements and amounts at Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada's official website: www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/inadmissibility/reasons/medical-inadmissibility.html
