I think that IF Dazai were to go back to the pm it would never be the same as before, I believe he would be trying to fulfill his promise from inside, like maybe getting to be the boss of the pm but unlike Beast Dazai leading the organization in a way that can maintain peace and protect the city, help the citizens like some kind of ONG, and he himself would personally help people. I also thought about him like going like some kind of spy inside the pm to destroy it from inside, but even if the idea is "good" from the outside remember that the pm is important for the city (They highlight this to us when the Guild appears), so even if he tries to destroy the pm for "a good cause" it would bring more harm than anything, so considering that dazai it's the second smartest character (alongside Fyodor, since both of them share the same level of intelligence) in BSD he would ofc already know this, so I discarded this second thought, I conserved the first one.

I have theory tho but I think it's kinda smillar to yours I think u remember the episode where Mori and fukuzawa made a deal that one member from the ADA will be transferred to the PM some of you guys think it's Yosano cause why not but I think Mori is going to pick Dazai since he said that Dazai is capable of becoming the next leader of the Mafia once he turns 23 guess what Dazai us 22 right now so that means Maybe Dazai us coming back to the Mafia. But again it's just my theory

@@Zine_Anastasia That's my thoughts too, I mean ofc Mori wants Yosano back for her useful ability, but he wants Dazai more, let's be real, Dazai has more worth than Yosano, Yosano only has her ability, but Dazai has his brains, his ability is only an asset for his brain, like an extra. Mori even went as far as leaving an empty seat for Dazai, while Yosano is only a convenient tool, Dazai is not only a convenient tool too, but can be not only that but a sword and a shield for the organization (pm), a pillar, that's the difference between the two. My first thought when they made that deal was Dazai, since let's be real everyone else at the agency besides Dazai and Yosano are useless (Rampo is good, but he is the kind of genius detective, not the kind of genius evil mastermind, Rampo is made for resolving crimes, for finding clues, evidence, etc in seconds without an investigation unlike "mediocre detectives" -as he himself said- would do, he isn't made for being a "puppeteer" of some short and he doesn't have an useful ability as he doesn't even have one), so if Yosano is out of question then the only plausible one is Dazai, the thing is that this thought just make me sad for Dazai's effort and hard work into changing, and his promise to Odasaku... It wouldn't be fair for him to go back into the pm unless it happens something similar to the thing I wrote in my og comment. Unless... Asagiri pulls a twist and makes Mori choose Atsushi (since he's the supposed MC), but that wouldn't make any sense, in that case I would love to hear the justification for it, but it seems impossible to me as Atsushi isn't anyone important like Dazai or Yosano besides being the MC (even tho there isn't an actual MC in BSD, the "MC" are the ADA and the PM, principally the ADA, nothing else).

i hate people who say "dazai should go back to the mafia" or "he's so bad for leaving chuuya in the pm!" like shut up. If you read the 15 manga, it's like so deppressing. You think it's fine just because you want to see angst? i know that feeling when you've tried, so, so hard to change, but in the end it doesn't even matter and you're back to square 1. I just wish it isn't dazai who gets picked for the pm deal. I know it will break him beyond repair, as if he already isn't.
