Thank you for tackling a really important topic and for calling out some of the extremely dodgy sales tactics out there. Most people don't need another course - they need to do the work and share it. I know that sharing and reaching out to people can feel super uncomfortable to start with, but too many people avoid this by taking another damn class!! Also... "Capitalist Whore"??? OMG that cracked me up! 🤣🤣🤣 Have you listened to the Duped podcast? It's all about the dark side of online marketing and something tells me you'd like it.

Thank you for the comment and for the recommendation. I am totally going to check out Duped😸. I think a lot of people shy away from calling out online marketing because they are hoping to eventually win big with it themselves one day instead of just being on the consumer side of it. But, in reality, people will likely spend more on online courses than they will make from them.

@@lifeexpanded Yes! I know that people don’t like to call out online marketers but I hadn’t thought of that aspect. I always assumed it was part of the toxic positivity culture surrounding so many online programs. So many of them shut down negative comments super fast and have their self-appointed White Knights ready to defend everything they do. I’ve heard the “poor me, I work so hard, be nice” approach coming from the same people who say “invest in yourself even if you can’t afford it”. Some huge double standards out there. But yes, everyone has their price and I hadn’t thought of that side of it. Probably lots of people don’t like being sold to like this but are happy to use the same tactics on others. It’s become accepted that that’s “just the way marketing is done online”. But it shouldn’t be OK. It’s manipulative. Rant over 😜

Pricey art career courses, yes or no? Do those sales pitches suck you in like they sometimes do for me?
