@@NeverQuite-m3e Because a some Christians believe that our church leaders are somehow exempt from sin. All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Let God's word go forth and we must encourage each other when we see someone stumble. Jesus never said we wouldn't fall, he provided a way for us to all get out of our sin nature. We have the holy Spirit who guides us. We are in a spiritual war and a physical war at the same time. Let's bandage up the wounded, nourishing them back to health and preparing them to fight on in the name of Jesus Christ.

What I’m thinking that maybe he’s saying is that the Word of the Lord is what is our guide not things, anything of the earth. In the New Testament Jesus taught we were to Love GOD and follow His will, loving God more then father or mother. We should always side with the word of God, judging what is sin by what the Bible says. Sometimes we “adjust” what we view as sin , through a distorted lens, anything other then the word of God is a distorted lens. When we pardon sin, condone it, Or see things of the earth as more important then the word of God. ( perhaps an example of a race issue would be the condoning of abuse or crime by one’s own race against another, valuing this earthly connection more then our relationship with God.)? He gave an example of the Truth not being taught and preached, or there could be miss teaching. He does a great job, for me! I appreciate his love for preaching the truth, helping us understand. People often think of an idol as something that is bowed to. He is reminding us that, as with the rich man in the New Testament, an idol is what we love more then God, what we may trust in, go to, care for more then HIM. Hope that helps?

Emphasis should be of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Listen to the words of scripture, read the words of scripture and obey the words of scripture. If you read the story of King Asa in 2 Chronicles 14, 15,& 16 you will see the rise and fall of a man of God. We are told in the beginning of chapter 14, that Asa did what is right in the eyes of God. Then something happened.!! Pride? Chapter 16:12, Asa became sick and did not seek the Lord God for help. He trusted the doctors and died a miserable man. BUT GOD still loved him. We all fail sometimes, because All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. But the blood of Jesus Christ, God's son, covers all our unrighteousness. Read about every person's dilemma in Romans 3:10-18. Read Romans 14: 10-13. We all have to settle our accounts in heaven. We don't have time to judge. We must be holy, because God is holy. Hebrews 12:28 &29 God wants us to be reverent and godly fear, For God is a consuming fire.
