I see this all day everyday, especially with my clients. I’m a caregiver, private care for elderly. They would rather pay less for care and spend all the money on stuff to fill their large homes, hence why they cannot keep their care for long periods of Time. Very high turn over rates. The boomer generation is the absolute worst, very entitled and laugh at everything faces the younger generations. I work my ass off, so 24 hour care and they’d rather buy more crap to Fill their homes then pay a decent wage

Kudos to all the Parents out there that stressed to their children to avoid debt. I knew white kids that worked their arses off in the farm fields, groves, and even moonlighted as truckers in the central valley to pay for their college degrees, and rent. I used to help them out and was amazed at the hours they were putting in to stay out of debt and pay as the go.

Years ago, in oregon state hospital, the patients helped in the kitchen...someone accidentally or maybe not...mixed up poison with another ingredient and many people started convulsing all at once and died. Sordid bit of history of Oregon state hospital. I worked there years ago when it was the old building when they filmed one flew over the cuckoo nest...they tore it down and built a new hospital...they don't want the remembrances of those Gothic days. Personally I think history is important...so we don't repeat mistakes

FYI some of us have been paying our debts because we chose a career field that pays a decent wage. My master's degree in nutrition didn't really pay off, but I paid off the debt nevertheless. I went back to community college and got an associates in nursing and hit the ground running.

My mother used to tell me you will always have a job in Healthcare and food. I worked for Cadbury Schweppes for many years, then Bristol Meyers then I had children and got a nursing license. I have never been out of work because there was no work.. I have worked since ce I was 13 years old. I was not booksmart I struggled but I always made it. I had faith in thel ord and myself. I don't know where this idea of piling up debt came from. I u derstand if illness hits you, life is not always easy.you don't give up you push forward. I'm thankful my parents had principles. They did not have a great deL but what they had they always shared. They have passed now but I miss them very much. They gave me the gift if life and I'm thankful for the lessons they taught me.

I'm retired and SS is 1205.00 a month plus my son pays auto insurance and I get 44.00 from a company I worked for before they went under another medical device supply company, Tyco International. So I have $1205 plus $139 (which my son pays( and $44.00 coming in. I pay my Internet, auto ins., straight talk (whish is great) discovery plus (not costly at all) and my regular electricity, water and gas utility bills. I pay my bills just fine even tags for car and taxes on my property and post-office box which always throws me off because I forget it until the bill is in the box. I don't have a salon fee every month or high credit debt (I have small credit debt) and I don't need a new car every 4 years. I don't understand why these young or old people can't pay their bills. I own my home and car. Yes Own Means Title In The Hand! You have to your taxes for property and automobile or you will not have anything but a few clothes maybe a recliner couch and a little food in the fridge. And I'm Not on food stamps or assistance in anyway. It's called budgeting. It Works. Everyone should try it.

Alabama and quite a few other states do the same thing. These criminals have finds court finds. They have restitution to pay. And the prison system collects this money to pay these people back. The state of Michigan had Olive Garden with employees they used to drop them off and work there. They learned how to cook food had a prepare food. They learned at a clean kitchens. They learned a trade.

Ignorance is no excuse for not paying your bills, I lived on 864.00 a month for the last 5 years and didn't miss a CC bill, a rent payment or car maintenance bill. I've basically lived on ramen noodles and chicken. I got a part time job in October, I didn't do it before I turned 65 because SS admin will eat you alive with overpayment fees. It can be done but if something bad happens to my 97 Chevy van, I'm screwed. Thanks Dan

My military service left me disabled. If I didn't get a monthly disability check from the VA I would not make it just on my SS income. My 2007 Toyota is starting to fall apart and .I can't afford to buy another used car. I'm screwed.

Since I've been watching Dan I've paid off all my loans. I didn't owe much because I decided to live within my means. If I couldn't pay for it, it didn't get purchased and financially I was still falling behind. You make further adjustments. Borrowing more only postpones a bigger collapse. You're credit will dry up eventually anyways. You still lose everything and then you have bad credit. Personally, I'm tired of paying interest loans anyways. Can't get home insurance anymore, farm insurance and most mortgages require it. Car loans require full coverage insurance but who can afford to pay cash for new cars so they can get minimum coverage liability insurance and save money? Big corporations are self insured and they buy their fuel in bulk. While you pay higher and lower prices for fuel, theirs was a constant for a longer period of time 6 months to a year. They finance new vehicles differently, nobody examines it but the government does too. It's hard for average people to find discounts these days but you have too to survive.

I homeschool my children but I tell them they don’t have to go to college. My husband disagrees even though his own parents are successful small business owners (carpenter/artist). I don’t think it is necessary unless you are going into heavy mathematics or science field. College costs are high and I think it just depends what your child is interested in doing. Side note, people stealing is going to cause changes in different establishments. We stopped by McDonalds and everything was behind the counter. No more getting your own drinks refilled, napkins, ketchup or other condiments. I know my in-laws ran restaurants years ago and people would even steal toilet paper from the restrooms. Just craziness.

Yes to your statements. If you want a low cost or near free college education, I could tell a person how to do it. I fund graduate scholarships for women at two universities. I helped support a relative who just graduated high school. He and his mother fell for the b.s. of going to the most expensive school. He may now finish one year only because he doesn't use his brain. There will no money after the first year.

The Chevy Camaro - back around 2000 they cost about $20K (a Corvette was about $50K). The silly GM redesign brought the price of the Camaro within about 25% of the Corvette. If you want an affordable 'roadster' sports car go get a Mazda Miata. Alabama and the fast food jobs. - That seems great for prisoners, get them some job experience so when they officially get out they'll have something on their resume besides 'breaking rocks in the hot sun,' and hopefully they can go into a fast food place and quickly get a $15/hr starter job. Streaming Services - The big media companies have been subsidizing those to get them started, get people to sign up, and bypass the cable TV middleman so they can keep all the $$$ (NBC's Peacock service lost $2 Billion last year!). Just wait and they'll be as expensive as cable TV in a few years.

They use it to determine their buy and sell prices. During 1987 Black Monday gold dealers were not buy or selling they had no reference the gauge their prices. With a cyber attack determine price is impossible. The rule of thumb is don’t panic and sit tight. Kitco is also a major global dealer. with the biggest boom in history in us manufacturing going on right now any layoffs in auto manufacturing are more than made up for by demand for workers elsewhere because there's a severe labor shortage for manufacturing workers. american manufacturing is thriving!

the camaro is not an ev, and its not $90k. gm cycles that car in and out of production every few years anyway. but what dan is ignoring is that with our continuing record low and or near record low unemployment if people lose a job they can pretty readily get another one especially in manufacturing where labor shortages are acute.

Why burden the taxpayers with the expense of a criminals subsistence? Lack of personal responsiblity is what got them in prison. They aren't an "audience", they are convicts.who owe a debt to society
