Michelle, you are the most honest person in a world where there are people who are trying so hard to sell us everything for their own benefit! Thank you for being who you are, a true person to mature women and helping us feel and look fabulous! I loved the mascara on your bottom lashes. I personally love all your videos. One of my all-time favorites is your pumpkin spice video with all Seint products. I am a big fan of Seint, but I love to have fun with half magic. I would love more eye videos.

I love how grounded and true-to-yourself you stay, Michelle. Your care and love for our community shows up time and again. I can tell how important it was for you to make sure we heard your message and I appreciate that you composed your thoughtful words for this one. So if you're taking requests, Im here to tell you eye make up application techniques, yes - but in particular pairing eyeshadow colors! I always appreciated those old school 3 color pallets because they took the guesswork out of it for me. I know there are cool colors, there are warms...can they go together? Are there hard and fast 'rules' when it comes to colors? What goes into your selection of the blush...do you take the eyeshadow into account? Your general knowledge on color is just fascinating to me.

I very much appreciated this video. Thank you. On a Seint day I’d like to see a video about eye shadow color combos. I look at all I have and am overwhelmed at the possibilities. But then it frequently doesn’t look good. I try to mimic the combinations you do but it doesn’t always works.

So good Michelle! I applaud your courage to speak up on this topic of consumerism/over-consumption/excess/FOMO and everything related to it! I am definitely in! Count me in as a Look Good Closeup Accountability Buddy! 😉 I try to stay aware of that little voice that says “oh, you need that!” and try my best to use up what I have first. But it’s a consistent practice for sure! We have to always work at it, just like being consistent with our daily workouts, healthy nutrition choices, etc. Practice, practice, practice! And I also limit who I watch, listen to as well. I so appreciate and value your professional use and personal use opinions on skincare, makeup, beauty. I have learned so much from you thus far this year! There are soooo many products in every segment! And your opinions have helped to save me money and time with my product selection for my needs. Otherwise I likely would have wasted money on the many “not worth your money/time” products that are being heavily marketed everywhere. And by the way, you absolutely deserve compensation from vendors/manufacturers for recommending their products, resulting in increased sales from your channel and members. Thank you so much for your honesty, for sharing, and for your integrity! ❤I always get excited and look forward to your content! And I love the lower lash mascara fan brush application tip! Both looks are beautiful! I do both too! I usually apply lower lash mascara when I want a look that is more glam! 🥰

Trends come and go, and the techniques and lessons you offer on your channel are invaluable. I would love to see eye makeup on a large lower lid that is deep set with crow's feet. Your tutorial on liners with hooded eyes was beneficial a few weeks ago. I don't have hooded eyes, but I will use your suggestions to help me with my eye shape. Thanks again, Michelle. ❤️

Ever since Seint in my life I gave up All the foundation in a bottle. I have a few tints or BBs or CCs. Think 3 serum concealers. I am more focused on good skincare. Exploring science based skincare to help some targeted issues. I probably won't get surgery. I am embracing the maturing skin. But taking care of it. Learning good ways to wear makeup etc. One thing for sure, if you have good skincare regiment, less makeup is needed. This is why I love Demi line of Seint. My recent makeup play is to get a signature look. My mother had one and she did it all with a tube of lipstick and popped mascara. So pretty and graceful. She was so cute and said raining my 4 kids close in age, and being a home stay mother, I needed to come up with short cuts. Plus she always made sure she was put together for dad when he came home. I know very 60s Hollywood mom she was but a great one. Her favorite look I liked was this monochromatic look. 1 lipstick on cheeks, eyes and lips then mascara. That is it. Plus she did take care of her skin. Learned facial massages from her. Anyways I love your videos. I soooo agree with you that there is a limit to what one can own before it all goes bad or produces same dang results. Lol. ❤

Hi Michelle, great technique for lower lashes. It can be helpful to hone in on what works for ourselves, not trend following. I like being updated for techniques and what is available, we have tons of stuff in our markets, without the emotional hook sales angle. When things become tempting, I heard one makeup artist comment, I have one face! Thank you for helping to keep things in perspective. It can difficult to toss aging products, they can be expensive. Hope you have a great weekend, Thank you!

I'm 41 now and I've never liked mascara on my lower lashes because it always transfers and I just dont like the "heaviness". I've always felt the mascara on the lower lashes made my eyes kinde look too dramatic and as if the mascara kinda pulled the eye down optically. So I stopped using mascara on the lower lashes completely. Most of the time I'll not even use eyeshadow to define my lower lashline. I just leave it bare as it is because this is what I prefer. But this technique I'll definitely try next time I'm in the mood for an more dramatic look 😅❤ thanks for sharing this technique here on youtube! And you're totally right. I'm sick of this permanent overconsumption. I must say that I've never been into high end makeup because most of the brands still test on animals which I don't want to support. This kinda protected me from buying many things I probably would have loved or at least tried. But I also feel that many of those expensive brands can't really be worth the money because in the end it's still just makeup - I'm sure many would disagree on this one but this is the way I feel about it. I think many affordable brands offer very beautiful und high quality products which also can be good alternatives to high end stuff. I kinda use highend beauty procucts as an inspiration and then I'll try to reach a similar result with what I have or I'll buy something cheaper but kinda similar to what I've seen. This worked out pretty often so far. 😊 And I also like the challenge to recreate similar looks by shopping my stach. Thank you for also reviewing affordable brands like e.l.f. I really enjoyed watching your videos about the brand even if I didn't buy anything from those videos so far becauso of ingredients and so on. 😊 I really also love how long and precise your videos and tutorials are! ❤❤❤

I love this video and your perspective on all this! I have recently been feeling this way. I’m tired of buying products and then end up not really liking them. I know Seint is my absolute favorite now and I have my tried and true mascaras. I have been feeling pressure from a friend to try a different skincare and I have resisted. A few other friends said if you have something that works great for you, don’t worry about it! And I do. I love it. I am thrilled to be purging what I don’t really love in my life, make-up included. I figured if I couldn’t fit more stuff in my drawers, I had become a victim of consumerism. I also did this with my basement (still a work in progress), and I’m weeding through closets, too. It’s so freeing, and I love the idea of other less fortunate women will have work and play clothes that I once enjoyed. Future videos… I would love a video that actually addresses the dilemma of coming home after wearing make-up all day and fixing what has become patchy, smeared, worn off, etc. to go out again. I usually depend on taking off the under-eye concealer altogether and then carefully removing any smearing or flaking several pointy Q-tips. Any other tips? I always have to touch up liner (it doesn’t like to stay as it was at 8am, despite experimenting with liner/then going over that with shadow/then powder to set. I have also done liquid liner and diffused it with shadow. How I wish NV1 would stay on me! I always appreciate your suggestions on how to go daytime into nighttime as well. I share your enthusiasm for watching Nikki, I find Katie J Hugh’s fascinating, and I am entertained by Tati/Scott Barnes together, but I’ve backed off many other artists pushing more products. It’s enough already… too much STUFF! Thank you for all you do and teach, most appreciated!

Yes, love KJH too!❤ ok, in production we take off actors/actresses’ makeup off after lunch, re prep skin and do brand new foundation and concealer. Its the only way. I appreciate and applaud this philosophy Michelle. I’ve been mindful of my consumerism for many years now. Using up what I have before buying and not falling for the latest. You’re right, it’s noise. Seint works for me, Tower 28 mascara is the only one that really just works consistently. For the occasional lower lash line that never transfers or clumps and has a small enough brush to look feathery is MAC gigablack. Lipliners are all the same color wise. Pick a brand lol. Skin care is simple for me. Thanks for being so real. ✌🏼🩵

Great topic today! Needs vs Wants. I tossed all my makeup after the pandemic. I now use Seint mostly and I have one drawer for makeup AND skin care and if there is no room in the drawer, I have to finish up something in there before I get more. Didn't really get into serious skin care until January of this year, and you are my main go to gal for education. You do such a good job, sincere and honest, without the shtick. I do have a random question: I just started using Fade Bright. Normally after washing I use SK-II essence and then Sonia Roselli Water Elixir then proceed onward with other skin care. All the literature says Fade Bright first thing after cleansing, but then I remember your "damp sponge" illustration.😊 I know you use both products. Do you use the essences and then the Fade Bright or essences on top of Fade Bright? You seemed the logical person to ask. Thanks!
@maturemakeupmasterclassАй бұрын
Fade bright is best on dry skin so yes, I also use SK-11 and Water Elixir, then Ill wait about 10 minutes or so, then Fade Bright. On nights Im in a rush, I skip essence and just use Fade Bright ❤

I this this video! I love you saying it's time to stop being influenced by everything we watch. This year I started cutting out most beauty influencers and limited myself to you, Nikki La Rose and LisaJ. I mostly watch you and Nikki because I know I'm getting the most instruction on applying makeup and skincare from you two. I also watch Nikol Johnson because she also does mature skin and her Fierce Aging videos are on women 60s and above. Her makeup line is all about mature skin, too. I still have 5+ foundations, but I keep weeding out what works and what doesn't. I love Haus Labs for my longwear event makeup, the dior stick for my traveling makeup, andNikol's bb cream for my every day running around makeup. I'd like to see a video from you on an everyday going to the store makeup look.

Oh, and I love this technique for bottom lashes so I'm going to have to buy a fan brush!😂 I do my bottom lashes just because they're in viable if I don't. I have extremely short sparse lashes and I use dark primer on my bottom lashes so it's not as heavy as mascara. This technique will be perfect for applying it.

Hi Michelle! I’m fairly new to your channel and am loving what you’re posting…especially the budget friendly content. I’m learning a lot! Not sure if you’ve addressed this before, but I need eyeglasses to see….would you put on more eye makeup or keep it the same as one who doesn’t wear glasses? Thank you for all you do for us mature gals!❤

Ive seen women wear heavy makeup with glasses, cute, and a more clean eye since the glasses are the real accessory. I think it comes down to style. There is no right way, both work!❤

Love the fan brush idea tip for lower lashes. Usually I skip the lower lashes. I will have to try this. Also what lashes are you wearing? I’ve been looking for some that are easy to apply and safe for the eyes.

Good to know and thank you. Less is more as I've gotten older. I often feel that some of the creators I follow have become too aggressive and it's a turn off.

Michelle I want to see simplicity. The cleansing routines that include multiple serums seem counterproductive. If you use more than one or two serums how do you know what is making a difference? It would be good to talk about how using a sponge vs brush vs finger with each foundation will impact finish and staying power.

I love that technique for lower lashes . I normally put mascara on my lower lashes by I call stamping that way it looks like I have eyeliner on without a harsh eyeliner if that makes sense .

I’m always happy for you all (YT creators) to make money, that said the amount of sponsorships lately on some channels is EVERY video. And I’ve noticed that at first I stopped trusting their opinions and then I stopped watching their channel. Their video upload notifications would come thru, I would click in, it would say sponsored and I would click out, now I just don’t click in.

There is a famous dermatologist saying that we are ruining our skin with all these products- each having preservatives that are damaging our microbiome- very interesting concept - we worry about microbiome everywhere else- but not on our skin/face

So true! Yet the Dermatologist is the new influencer! Most of them are in bed with ALL these skincare brands. I think people trust them because they’re doctors and they’ve worked hard for their degree but they are the new influencer and they’re actually replacing people like me so there’s no more work in skin care campaign brands. So be very careful of who you watch because they don’t always disclose that it’s a sponsored ad

I just use a little of the Annabelle Skinny mascara on my outer lower lashes and I’ve always found that it gives just the right amount of impact without drawing too much focus. I felt that full mascara on the lowers made me look too much like a rocker chick…and that’s never been what I was going for - even throughout the 90s.

There is so much commercialism out there. I’ve recently been talking myself out of buying things pushed on line. I own one skin tint, one BB cream and one stick foundation. How much do you need? In reality we don’t need any, it’s wanting that makes us buy. I like the look of lower lashes but never apply mascara to my lower lashes. I love the fan brush application though. Great tip!

You did show us your fan brush technique a long time ago. I know because I found an entire package of smaller fan brushed on Amazon. The problem I ran into was that the fan brush got really hard from the mascara, and I could only use it a couple of times, then would have to use a new one. I think the mascara on the bottom eye makes the eye look prettier than the one without. I would really like to see some help for those of us in our late sixties and upwards. You're 11 years younger than me, and when I was in my 50's and up to the mid 60's, I could wear eye makeup with no problem. Now, there is so much more texture even on my upper eyelids that most eye makeup doesn't look good. My skin is in really healthy, clear, and good condition, but you can't stop the texture that comes with aging. I may be the only one in your following with these issues, but you asked us to tell you what we wanted. I so appreciate you. Your desire and commitment to help mature women look their best and feel pretty at any age ❤.

I knew someone would know! Ok, awesome! So you need to clean the brush immediately after use and you’ll have it for many many years!

First video of yours that I've watched. I've always put mascara on the bottom lashes. On my eyes, I think it looks incomplete if I don't. The only time I notice mascara on lower lashes, ironically, is when I see someone else's "spider legs." I understand that we all have different preferences, and it kinda makes me wish I could be that bold. Every time I get heavy-handed, it doesn't feel authentic on me.
