Make of this what you will, but, I started taking boron shortly after being diagnosed with very severe osteoporosis in January of 2023. (Spine -4.6.) Im January 2024, my spine was -3.9. I've since been told by a physician that DEXAs can't calculate scores for bones as bad as mine very well, and that there was no way my second score reflected that much improvement (about 14-15%) though he conceded it was a positive sign it wasn't worse. Just leaves me not knowing what to think. But I can also say that while 2023 was a brutal year that established pain in my back as a constant, I don't feel as fragile now. I'm still careful with twisting but last year it seemed the tiniest moves resulted in injury (at least some of which were fractures,) and this year, and this year most of the time, I just do what I want/need to do in a way I have not been able to do for...three years prior. At least some, if not most of this, is that I'm stronger. And I also pretty much take every supplement Dr Doug has ever said, "Might help, probably won't hurt you," that I can afford and a few he hasn't talked about yet. Probably wrecking my kidneys, (but the osteoporosis drugs might hurt them too, I hear,) but otherwise if there are ill effects, I haven't detected them, and when you go from running and doing functional exercise classes to struggling to walk/constant pain that no non-opioid drug can even touch, you do make some choices. Boron was my first one. Might help, probably won't hurt.

Have you spoken to someone specializing in Bioidentical hormone therapy Estrogen Patches? Dr. Doug had someone on his show not to long ago, discussing this. Apparently we need Estrogen and the patches are the safest way bcos the Estrogen doesn't go thru the liver, therefore avoiding cancer, and it's suppose to help with Osteoporosis. Please look into this.

I was diagnosed with parathyroid adenoma 4 years ago and was referred for surgery early this year. In the meantime I have also developed osteoporosis from PTH sucking calcium out of my bones. I had 2 doses of Prolia then did some research on it and stopped it. Boron was recommended to me for parathyroid dysfunction by a regenerative farmer. I had nothing to lose, did some research and took it at 3 mg per day for 5 weeks before my surgical appt. This was the only change to meds or lifestyle I made at that time. At appointment my Ca was just above normal, my PTH which had been between 10 and 23 (upper ref limit 6.8) was 6.9. My Sestamibi, 3D CT and USS scans were all clear. Surgeon said she could not justify surgery based on the test results. 4 months later my levels are all normal. I now take a lot of supplements and have made some dietary and exercise changes as per the advice on this channel, I feel a lot better and more energetic and for the first time in years my liver function tests are normal. I am due for bone scan this October and am hoping for improvement in my bone health.

Also found I’m severely low in iodine, so I’m extra dosing for a month, then dropping back. Very interesting the links with the thyroid, hormones, bones and your body’s deficiencies. I really appreciate all the content on this channel, not least of all the citations and commentary on studies of supplements (I read every study). I will also say that the free Master Class and Workbook were very helpful for laying out all the strategies I am already (and not yet) using to try to improve my bones…to see where my money and effort are going. Where I struggle is in trying to evaluate the relative importance and effect size of all the various interventions. I tend to suppose that resistance exercise and hormones probably rank ahead of sleep, diet, and supplements, but could there be some supplements that really should be nearer the top of the list? Now that I am up to 21 supplements (!) I take partly or primarily for bone health, on top of daily exercise, weekly intensive strength training, Rx hormone replacement, prunes, protein and prayer, it’s natural to wonder at what point I am “majoring in the minors.” I get that osteoporosis is a multifactorial condition, and also that there must be wide variation in who responds best to what. There is also the problem of time lag between what we try, and our DEXAor REM test results. Still I wonder if you have any general comments on which interventions typically make the biggest difference to your patient population, and where patients should typically focus the most attention.

Be sure that you take * natural calcium like in yoghurt or vegetables (you can Google for it) * Magnesium in a good absorbable form like citrate (cheap), bisglycinate (better) or other forms like threonate (expensive!), malate, etc l. Don't use oxide, hydroxide, carbonate, sulphate. Minimal dose 350 mg pet day calculated as elemental magnesium, that'll be around 2500 of the component that contains the magnesium... * Vitamin D3, at least 4000 IU per day (!). That dose is completely safe, AND effective. * Vitamin K2, preferably in the MK7 form. Minimum 100 microgram per day, I take more. * Boron, at least 3 mg of the elemental Boron. Often that's from the fructose or glucose form . I use the cheapest way: a very diluted solution of household borax. I prepare my own solution: dissolve 9 grams of borax into 500 ml of pure water. BORAX contains 11.3% of the element Boron. I use distilled or demineralized water, but if you can't get it, boiled tap water will do also. I keep the solution in the dark, a fridge is best! This solution contains 2 mg of elemental Boron per milliliter. So, the first few months I took 10 mg of Boron per day, this is 5 ml of the solution. I used it against arthritis pain in my hands. It was so bad that I couldn't open a jar or bottle work my bags hands. After 6 weeks my problem was fine and I had a force around 45 kg in each hand. The maintenance dose is 3mg elemental Boron per day. If your remain using more, my advice would be to supplement with vitamin B2.

If you have improved your osteoarthritis with the carnivore diet, it does not mean that you will not shorten your lifespan anyway, because you do not see the arteries in our body from the outside. Cholesterol is found only and exclusively in animal products and clogs the arteries with cholesterol plaque deposits that lead to cardiovascular disease, atherosclerosis, heart attacks, stroke, dementia and diabetes. Carnivore is a trend that pursues an idea, but has fatal consequences for health.

I am taking 5 different kinds of supplements , oregano oil , boron , chanka piedra , cherry extract and blueberry extract. I`m in my mid 50s and just starting to "take care" of my body. I think the supplements I`m taking complement each other as per my research on Dr. Google, I have not consulted any doctor for these supplements. Does anyone have an idea or any input about this experiment I`m doing with my body?

Thank you so much for these informative videos. As a menopausal woman who just introduced 3mg of Boron into my daily supplement routine, I have one very important question. Since Boron increases the absorption of Magnesium and Vitamin D, should I be lowering the amount I use of each every day? And is Boron at 3 mg safe to use indefinitely?

My Chiro suggested I take it after I had a Dexa, my results weren’t that bad, just didn’t want it to get worse, he suggested I take the stand alone every other day since I had some in my multi.

We should be concerned with the lowering of estradiol in the male test subjects. So the second study with women showed a favorable rise in estradiol. I found this video really helpful.

Hello Dr. Doug! I'm new to your channel. This is the first video I've watched and I'm glad I did because I have 30 mg tablets of boron! The suggested use says, "One tablet daily or as directed by your health care provider". I took one and was nauseous. I've since been cutting them in half. I had no idea that could be too much! I researched and read that the maximum taken should be under 20 mg per day. Under what circumstances would a person need 30 mg per day?!

In certain areas of the world the soils are very boron rich and people get upwards of 150mg of boron per day. Arthritis and related issues are virtually non-existent in those regions.
