I have about 500 photos in the LR cloud now.. I enabled the feature and chose a drive and LR moved the photos I already have in the cloud to that drive. However, one of the things I really love about LR is to NOT be tethered to an external drive (like LRC). But I'll give this a try. thanks Brian.

Great, as usual. Brian, I have a question that many people try to found out or solve. If you have 2,3 backup not in the cloud but in your hardrive, let's say 100 gigas x 3 can I remove the first one? Thanks to take a minute Erik

I always thought of this feature as a (not so great) backup feature offered by Adobe. I had no idea it was performance related! I thought I knew Lightroom-then I watch one of your videos and realize how much I don’t know! Definitely considering your course.

@@brianmatiash The course is amazing without doubt !! I'm a slow learner...LRE is Probably one of the 1st courses I've purchased. The light bulbs are popping on slowly and steadily. It will take time, however LRE has invigorated my workflow and I have learned so much so far, thank you.

Thanks for this suggestion, I took your advice. While I have your ear....the export function in Lr isn't very intuitive, I wish Adobe would make it like it is in LrC! Do you know of a better way?

Lr is lacking one critical feature, in my view: autoadvance while rating or tagging photos, is it on the roadmap? Thank you.

Set caps lock on while rating or picking photos. If you pick a photo (use p-key) and LR will go to the next photo automatically

What if you replace the external drive with a new one. Is there a way for Lightroom to move the photos to the new drive and then use that drive going forward? Or is moving the photos a manual process?

In the past, I've just moved the directory to the new drive ensuring that the folder structure was the same (for example, if the Lightroom folder was on the root of Drive 1, you'd want to copy/move it to the root of Drive 2). Then I'd go to the LR preferences and point to that new drive. As long as you keep the folder structure the same, Lightroom should be good to go. It'll take a bit while the app does its verification that everything is in order, but it won't need to download everything again.
