These comparisons provide great value and I would very much like to see an expansion of this format to cover more areas in the region. I would be especially interested in learning more about Monte Mayor and its benefits, risks and future plans for the area as compared to other options in the price range. Best regards, Henrik

We will be doing an updated comparison of Monte Mayor and MC Golf Resort, as these areas have definitely emerged as alternatives to El Madroñal and La Zagaleta respectively.

Great overview of both places, but what about the average running costs? Like community fees etc.

Hello Don, thanks for your comment. The community fees really vary house to house, depending on size of plot so it would be a difficult point to discuss. Any enquiries we receive for properties in these areas we can tell you quickly the community fees

the security in La Zagaleta would also reflect the monthly community fees as well right ? so it is not the initial investment only but the running costs would made a difference as well right ?

Yes Mike, you are correct. The more services available like security, concierge etc, the higher the service charges/community fees. Because of the large area that Zagaleta covers, these fees are actually well diluted across a large number of owners. Problems arise when you have a small community of 10 or 20 villas paying for 24 hour security (effectively 3 people´s salaries). This becomes a costly burden in the eyes of most owners in that scenario.
