Geometry on Khan Academy: We are surrounded by space. And that space contains lots of things. And these things have shapes. In geometry we are concerned with the nature of these shapes, how we define them, and what they teach us about the world at large--from math to architecture to biology to astronomy (and everything in between). Learning geometry is about more than just taking your medicine ("It's good for you!"), it's at the core of everything that exists--including you. Having said all that, some of the specific topics we'll cover include angles, intersecting lines, right triangles, perimeter, area, volume, circles, triangles, quadrilaterals, analytic geometry, and geometric constructions. Wow. That's a lot. To summarize: it's difficult to imagine any area of math that is more widely used than geometry.
About Khan Academy: Khan Academy offers practice exercises, instructional videos, and a personalized learning dashboard that empower learners to study at their own pace in and outside of the classroom. We tackle math, science, computer programming, history, art history, economics, and more. Our math missions guide learners from kindergarten to calculus using state-of-the-art, adaptive technology that identifies strengths and learning gaps. We've also partnered with institutions like NASA, The Museum of Modern Art, The California Academy of Sciences, and MIT to offer specialized content.
For free. For everyone. Forever. #YouCanLearnAnything

my brain fried trying to solve this on my own without watching. But I was able to condense it down on my own to the (4/9) pattern at the end of the video, which made me happy. I have no idea how to solve geometric series though so I'll have to watch that.

Keeping it as simple as I can, think of it this way. If you were to draw Koch's Snowflake on a piece of paper, you would only need one piece of paper, but you would need infinite pens.

There are many different interpretations of how to pronounce it, you could say that if civilization just kept progressing and people just kept reproducing, you could say there would be an infinite number of interpretations on how to pronounce Koch. I pronounce it Kach.

It would seem that if you base the physical mathematical work around the Koch Triangle that the equations would go on forever, and take on the form of a spiral and at some point lead to what would look to be a fractal itself. Although it does have a center that contains another actually infinite figure.

You should put links to the previous as next video in each video so people can follow the videos order if they are just searching for a specific subject.

The perimeter is actually (3s + 2s + 4/3 s + 8/9 s .....) which equals 9s

If this Koch triangle were to be placed upside down with point on origin where is the asymptote/ or are there an infinite number of asymptotes along the finite area of Koch's triangle?

Koch is usually pronounced in English like Coke. The correct German pronunciation has a more guttural sound at the end, like the Scottish "loch", I think.

not "coke", rather short open o like to "hop" and right, the guttural end like scottish loch or j en spanish Jalapeño. seems that Koch got a German nobility rewarded, von (pronounced like Spánish don with an f in the beginning) means "of" , predicate of nobility given by German emperors before 1918 and maybe similar given in Sweden (I do not speak Swedish but German is basically the same pronounciation of the letters)

Well, I've got a question now. If a Koch Snowflake, or any fractal, has infinite parameter, shouldn't is also have infinite area?

just say 'cook' , because that's the english translation of Koch. English speakers don't have an appropriate sound for 'ch' in their pronounciation repertoire

I'm sorry, but your comment is absurd. You could just as well say that there are countless interpretations on how to pronounce Einstein, and you happen to pronounce it Aynshteen. It reminds me of a Monty Python skit where Graham Chapman says "It's spelled Raymond Luxury Yacht, but it's pronounced Throatwobbler Mangrove". When pronouncing foreign names you're supposed to try to approximate the original, not to give your own interpretations.
