This “new” AFL is such a sham. Horrible to hear of all the deception and lies the players and coaches had to endure. Hutton is a scam artist and should be brought up on fraud charges.

I try to keep the football personnel decisions and the way things are run by the organization in two separate categories. Unfortunately lines are sometimes blurred especially in arena football. My focus is be the best quarterback I can be, continue to give interested scouts film and move up as much as I can. All while trying to be for someone else something I never had.

As someone who was born and raised in Atlanta, I was excited to hear that the Georgia Force was coming back, but sadly they're gone just as soon as they returned. What a horrible situation for you and your teammates! No one should have to endure what you have had to deal with. I suspect we'll be hearing similar stories from countless other players throughout the league. I wanted to see the league succeed, but it doesn't seem like that's going to happen. The commissioner's continued silence on all of this is very troubling. I hope you get another opportunity very soon.

This is truly awful. I am so sorry you and your teammates went through this. It certainly sounds like you are not the only ones. I was really hopeful when the AFL initially relaunched. Now I am just sick about it and worried about all of the other players who, like you, either have or will have the dream they thought they were living ripped right out from under them.

This situation has only reinvigorated my passion for my career and my motivation to chase the dream. However, I want the well-run teams that are left to make changes so this doesn’t happen again. The League Commissioner does not need to own teams, nor be in charge any longer. Those are the lives and teams he has destroyed. But I still forgive him nonetheless.

I don’t know how he stays so calm through this debacle. I would hope someone files some sort of lawsuit against those promising payment to these poor souls that put their trust in the AFL and are now left to fend for themselves. Sadly there are more untold stories and more teams that will fold as a result of mismanagement.

Thank you. We are working together as a team and hopefully alongside other teams that folded as well, to bring a suit to the table. I personally turned down other opportunities to give this a chance and I know my teammates have too. The fight isn’t over but at the same time I can stay calm because I know my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ has me in the situation for a reason even if I don’t know why, it will be known later. I trust in Him and the rest will fall into place with my work ethic, skill and talents I have.

@@fsujd It returned with no team owner or local plan to play in Atlanta, like it was advertised. We as players still have not been paid and we know it’s a fever dream to get paid our rightful salaries at this point.

I hate this for the players… but at the same time, it was so clear and obvious that the team wasn’t going to survive. For the longest time, you couldn’t buy a ticket to any of the games. The team was fed lies by the AFL in hopes to get the team to join (the AFL would tell different teams different things like the cost to join, TV deals, etc).

You are right. But being a local to Atlanta and someone who has NFL/CFL/UFL interest but needs more film and exposure to get that contract to go compete at that level, it was a chance I personally had to take. Being offered 4x the amount of my former arena salaries and a chance to stay at home and play on NFL Network was a risk in my career I chose to take because of what it would mean if it was true.

Fortunately, yes the housing was one thing that was paid for but it’s only paid for until tomorrow so I and a few other locals are trying to raise money on a go fund me to help them get back home.

I would not waste a minute of emotion on expecting to get paid. Like the text said... Move on. You've been through enough. Don't go through the mental anguish. I've been there before a few times. These are the times when you confess more than ever that God is your source. He will present a higher ground opportunity. We all wanted the AFL to succeed.

We started a GoFundMe for the non-local players to be able to get home before they are kicked out of their hotel rooms tomorrow. Thanks to the generous people we reached that goal. I personally am not gonna ask for money to recoup what the league should pay me and my teammates. We can handle that with the league in court. I just want to make sure the non-local guys can get home and aren’t stranded.

I was inactive for week 1 and was active for week 2 before we folded. I did play college football at an NAIA school, so yes, not NCAA. So thanks for the research. My film says other wise but you are entitled to your own opinion. God bless you.
