Arena Showcase Showdown - WWF vs WCW in 1998 (Part 1)

On this special edition of Arena Showcase we put WWF and WCW into the ring head to head to see what each promotion had to offer for 1998. If you're familiar with the format you'll know that we aren't looking at matches of storylines, but instead we will be taking a look at the stages designs, rings, graphics, and other aspects that made up these events. Which promotion featured the best designs? Let's take a look.

It is weird thinking the venue the hosted Souled Out in 1998 would host ECW Heatwave 7 months later. At that time, you usually wouldn't see multiple companies using the same venue, though ECW wasn't on WWF's level, so maybe WCW didn't care as much if the smaller company was using the venue as well.

Grew up going to Hara Arena. Those ceiling tiles you showed would fall if they did monster trucks or dirt bikes😂 before they tore it down around 2006😢

Is it just me or did the WWF hold on to there 80s aethestic and presentation till late 97 😅 compared to WCW at the time to me the WWF did not transition with the times like WCW till the Attitude Era.

Oooh! Nice new series, homie. I’m sure we can all agree that these times were the absolute best in terms of presentation. Creative stage designs, creative show graphics and logos, creative posters, etc. Some of my favorites include Halloween Havoc 1998 with the most beautiful stage ever, SummerSlam 1998 as I love the Stone Cold Vs Taker as kaijus destroying New York City poster and I love the MSG entrance ways with the doors, Survivor Series ‘98 with the skull stage and graphics, and of course Raw Is War and WCW Monday Nitro, with their badass graphics, show intros, and their absolute hype as hell vibes. God, such great times, I wish I could’ve experienced this as a kid.😔 Oh well. Great video, homie.👍

You know the crazy thing about the outdated wwf logos but they were using the old blue ring posts , blue side skirts and red white and blue ropes for house shows during that time period
