Arequipa is the second largest city in Peru and it was stunning! I wish I had planned to spend more time there. I spent a few days staying at Selina Hostel and then went on a 2day/1night trekking tour in the Colca Canyon. It was a tough hike (especially on the ascent!) but so worth it! I When I returned to Arequipa, I did a chocolate-making class at Chaqchao which was fantastic.

Is travelling solo safe? - I would argue the answer is almost always yes! As long as you use your common sense and you follow your own government's guidelines about travelling in that country. I have made several videos on backpacking safety on my channel.
Do you have plans to settle down? Yes, I'm currently saving to purchase my first property in the UK and I'd love to have children one day. I doubt I'll ever live a completely 'conventional' lifestyle by society's standards though, as I often have my own preferred way of doing things.

That's one heck of a trek there CR! Looked like fun...i like your new make-up too! That chocolate class was unique. I've never seen one with fresh cocoa(?) beans. Awesome. FYI dark chocolate is better...just sayin.

currently planning my trip to costa rica, equador and peru in Jan and feb. glad to see some videos from you from there. Cant hike at the moment so just going to train it to machu pichu but will have to go back to hike it. Just booked in at Selina looks great.

Girlll if you end up going back to Arequipa like you mentioned, definitely do the hike up to volcan Chachani! You can book it with Weiky Adventures, their office is near the Plaza de Armas. It's a tough hike, but the sunrise and sunset views are the prettiest I've ever seen! Loved watching this vlog by the way, really makes me relive my time in Peru 2 months ago!

Or did you find out about them while you were there and book them spontaneously? @@lainalangridge7934 you can get a water filter to filter tap water (or water enroute). Grayl are a popular brand and I think that's the kind Christianne also uses. Tap water isn't potable in quite alot of countries

My family is from Arequipa, but I'm Canadian born. I grew up there in Arequipa and I took 2 friends to Peru a couple of years ago, and of all the country Arequipa was also their favorite. Make sure you make time for Arequipa!

I loved Arequipa as well. If you go back try the supported bike ride down a canyon. Hope you are able to get back and live there for a couple weeks.

I'm sure someone has said this in the comments, but I just got back from Costa Rica. We actually went to a cocoa and coffee farm in the La Fortuna area (Don Juan Tours La Fortuna). Arabica or robusta is the type of coffee plant that is grown. The Robusta is usually the 'gross' instant coffee and the Arabica is the higher quality coffee. P.S. I do not drink coffee so I have no idea if it is really gross...that's just what the guide said during the tour.

It looks as though you had a blast, what lovely scenery! If it’s not too much trouble on your end, could it be possible to have the cost breakdowns stay on screen just a tiny bit longer? By the time my eyes scan down to my currency it disappears and I always need to back up the video to see it again. Not a huge issue but it’d be much appreciated if you could! I’m super nosy so I always have to know the prices of things I’ll never experience LOL I’m looking forward to your next upload. 😊
