@@gmail4218 Maybe. But the way it usually worked is that recording studios would pre-record the music and any backing vocals, and the artist would actually sing. TV wasn't set up to do actual full-band, live broadcasts. Especially on 30 or 60 minute TV.

The great lady was AlWAYS in her prime no matter the era. 60s-2000's - each time she sang it was perfect! From 'Respect', to "Jimmy Lee" to 'Wonderful' - I could never pick a favorite. They're all so iconic!

I’m 28. My grandma passed when I was 12. I remember visiting her in the summer. This was her favorite song. Me and her dance to this song all the time. Now when I hear this song it brings me to tears lol. Rip grandma, and rip Aretha Franklin.

Amazing. The sign of a really great singer is how the voice projects so powerfully with seemingly little effort. Donna Summer had that ability too. What sounds like a strenuous note, in the hands of a singer who controls their instrument, flows out flawlessly. I love Aretha.
