DIYS w/Tahir and Pat are about current internet stories, even HTT is dedicated to current stories so this not only keeps this podcast fresh but it also shows that Kev's not going to damage his friends and/or his other podcast. Wish you could have stayed on topic. That Aretha Franklin was tracked by the FBI is serious. Its the sort of story that usually only comes out after the death of the subject-- rarely while they are still alive. Its no laughing matter though, because its how they (the FBI) git down. And for the record, I doubt they stopped tracking her in 2007. I'm sure they tracked her until her death, because she had influence until her death. Their concern was in how she used her influence and celebrity. So long as her actions and agenda aligned with theirs-- cool, otherwise -- there could be a problem. You feel me? Her father Rev CL Franklin was an activist too. He lead a civil rights march in Detroit back in 1963 ( among other things); and he attended Jackson State. They watched her for a reason though: to prevent the rise of a black messiah and/or another civil rights movement. Their job is to watch anyone or anything that might give rise to either. I ought to know.
