Aretha had a career surge in the '80s! "Jump to It," "Freeway of Love," "Who's Zoomin' Who," "I Knew You Were Waiting for Me," "Sisters are Doin' It for Themselves" (hopefully the last two vids on this list include at least one of those)

80’s/ 90’s Aretha put me in a chokehold and I dove into her discography from there! “ Love All the Hurt Away” w/ George Benson started it all

Eighties Aretha is my favorite era, which is saying something. Check out Freeway of Love and her duet with George Michael during the 80's, Knew you were waiting

Another great 80s Aretha song is Jimmy Lee. She also has her duets with Michael McDonald and George Michael.

Don’t forget her duet with rocker Peter Wolf “Push”. And her cover of Rolling Stones “Jumping Jack Flash”. The Queen did indeed rock a lot😊! Rockstar!

This is a great song from the “Who’s Zoomin’ Who” album that’s been largely forgotten, because “Freeway of Love” and the title track get all the 80s replays. The video (yes, it’s hysterical) is what makes it the most entertaining. It’s even funnier if you imagine the guy in the crowd isn’t actually Jake, but just a guy who resembles Jake. His WTF reactions make total sense, and Aretha seems a little psycho. For more 80s Aretha goodness, check out “Jump To It” from 1982.

Those background singers are something! Aretha was not someone to play with, hard to believe Aretha would fall for Jake. What a jerk! And your reaction was on point as usual 👏🏾😊👍🏾

Her best music was in the 60's and 70's when her music was straight SOUL music.

Ok but she said “I’m still here” with her 80’s/90’s resurgence, epic!

You were talking about the smoke in the club... I was a bartender in my 20's and I'm 54 right now... I can remember leaving the club having a hard time breathing... like I was having chest pains... and I didn't even smioke...
