Damn, damn, damn!!! This is why I love KZbin so much. We get to see these gems years after these beautiful performances were made. Rest in Peace King and Queen. They don't make 'em like this any more.

When R&B legend Otis Redding, who wrote and first recorded “Respect,” heard Aretha Franklin’s version of the song, he reportedly said, “well, I guess it’s that girl’s song now.”

Jerry, I know you already know this but you are part of the greatest night in the history of music recorded in early March 1971 at the Fillmore West with two amazing albums. To have you, Cornell and Bernard on the same stage as Aretha, Ray Charles, Billy Preston, King Curtis and the Memphis Horns, tell me a better band. You're a living legend

ReRe could have sung the Blues as well as played the Blues on Keys with brilliance and soulful energy. Here was King Curtis hitting those Altissimo Out-of-range High Notes with the ease of "a bolt from the blue" - 1971, eh! In this regard therefore, the King begot, among others: Grover Washington, Jr. Ernie Watts Michael Brecker David Sanborn Marc Russo Gerald Albright Nelson Rangell... Big sister Erna - "Take A Little Piece Of My Heart" - and little sister Carol were just as fabulous as middle sister Aretha. RIP, loved ones! Lohvissimo!
