It's probably because he's a big 6'4 inside centre and he gets tackled a lot, yes, but if you look closely, 12's usually run that out to inside line right into the line of big scary test level blindside and openside flankers him being so big and strong means he can carry into big forwards and still hold onto the ball. The ABs know that he can at least buy quick ball or front foot ball when he makes carries because he's a skilled big power back
