The World Cup is a big thing in our culture and we were really hit by those 36 years of not seing our team lift the trophy; specially for the times they were really close and fell nonetheless. First our faith was crushed when we lost to the Saudis because of a VAR mistake, then we felt pure tension until the victory against Mexico and the classification to the knock-out stage. Australia scared the shit out of us with that lucky goal they made by the end of the r16 match, the Netherlands did the proper and made us feel frustrated by cornering our team after they were winning easily for most of the match. And France did the same as the Dutch but not only one, but twice in the same match. Only now that I can watch the tournment again knowing the results is that I don't feel tension anymore and I'm able to notice how amusing the whole thing was.
