I first lived in the east end from 1974 - 1976. I lived on what was Cascade Ave., but is now known as Marconi Blvd. There were fields and a large wooden area. All of that is gone now and it's a subdivision. I returned to the east end in 1991 and have been here ever since. It's my home.

I actually grew up just outside of Ilderton. I lived in many areas in London but landed in the east end, Argyle area and love it! I'm so glad that you love our neighbourhood as much as I do!

I have lived in Argyle for 12 years now, it's a nice area. I do feel like the city forgets about the east end though. Dundas from Hale to Third St really needs some TLC. Argyle mall lost a lot of trees due to ash beetle, but never replaced them. That would be great, seeing more greenery:)

You're not wrong. It is an area that often gets over looked. If you look you can find homes backing on natural forests. Watch for the deer.

I've lived in London twice - once in the late 80s and this time 15+ years. The first time I was told not to go east of Adelaide and I didn't. Second time around I got work at Oxford and Second Street and started wandering around that part of the city. Loved it especially down along Dundas. One of my favourite restaurants was there (has since been sold so it's not the same); several thrift stores; and more. I didn't live in the area but every 3-6 months I go out to pay a visit and would spend the day wandering around. Decided at one point I would like to live out that way. Unfortunately in the whole of that huge area there are only two (that I'm aware of) apartment buildings that have elevators. I can't do stairs at the best of times and lugging groceries would be impossible. One of the buildings, I believe, is for senior's (I qualify) and the other is city housing which I also qualify for (currently am homeless). To be honest, even though I do wish for more buildings with elevators out there I think it would take something away from the small town feeling. So, just wanted to put my vote in for living in the east end of London.

I truly wish people would not go to that automatic statement,"don't live east of Adelaide". It's based on nothing. There are good and bad areas all over town. I am truly sorry to hear that you are homeless. I hope that there is a way for you to find reasonable accommodations. Can you apply for any low income housing?

The community center is where East Lions Park is on Wavell st. There's no more outdoor public pools there. Argyle arena is also on Wavell st, but is east of Clarke Rd.

The worst part of Argyle is Hilton Ave. and Hilton Place.
