Juan no worries! You cannot breathe underwater - the volume inside is limited, there is no simple product that can work as an underwater lung. The only way to breathe and move freeley underwater, at the present time, is with tanks, rebreathers and air supply from the surface. what these guys are doing is freediving a little - holding their breath, knowing what they are doing in a simple but safe way. The time you can spend without breathing underwater is in relation to your ability, training, lung capacity and equipment. the main purpose of this product is to snorkel and have a nice time. if you have never been much of a water person - this product, with of course supervision by a strong swimmer, or someone who you trust, can really make the first steps in the water, magical.

Hey Alexandre, Rehator - no, you cannot. the visor is solid and you cannot reach your nose to pinch it closed. If you can jaw-equalize, then you can do that, but the volume of the mask is large and freediving deep with it requires a deep knowledge of what you are doing. We recommend shallow diving and snorkeling only. You will still love it - but if you are planning to go as deep as you feel during the swim, then you will also have to take a conventional mask with you.

Have I been using this mask wrongly all along or was my ARIA mask different than this? My own did not allow me to deep diving like on the video, rather snorkle on a surface. Any deeper diving cased me to inhale water. If you use ARIA that allows you to deep dive - what type of mask is it?

Hey there! this is the same mask:) we do not reccomend to dive down or free dive at all, as this is not what the product is intended for. Of course, people in these videos are experienced waterpeople, surfers, divers, freedivers whom have grown around the Ocean. They are able to safely do activities that are not reccomended with such products. Enjoy your aria and let it take you to wanting more out of the Ocean - then, increase your experience, confidence (attend courses, free diving classes) and you will be able to do anything YOU judge safe and comfortable to do!

Thanks for the question! We have engineered FFM, Gas masks AND helped create the first ever ffsm. Carbon Dioxide build up happens also in conventional snorkels - it's just that now all the hype is around ffsm, and a lot of people and media who do not research properly, tend to put out opinions as facts... just check out the news during which reporters use improper terminology...or mount snorkels upside down!! Snorkels (conventional) have specific rules that regulate how long they should be and how they should work (because of CO2 build ups) to be sold. Our FFSM were engineered to comply to all existing rules and racomandations for safe use.

You should not attempt to do that, as there is no air source. it seals once your underwater - you will not get any air by doing that - you will only create a very uncomfortable depression.

When you try one out in the shop, I would advise to get one that's very tight around your mouth. I enjoyed mine immensely. Yet my sister couldn't get on with hers.

Then be careful at all the scam websites selling you overpriced Chinese junk. They use ad material stolen to "legit" mask makers (usually they use the nice Decathlon/Tribord Easybreath video as it's the nicest one) but what they will send you is different. Check if you have a decathlon website in your country and then you can buy the Easybreath mask, it's the original one, it's great and it's cheap (around US$40). Be careful at the size, Easybreath has 3 sizes (and they explain how to chose on their website), if you choose the wrong size for your face you might have some leaks around the mask.

You cannot, they are not made for freediving - the internal volume is too large and would be risky and complicated for inexperienced snorkelers.
