@@brianna_r_larsen_ 😂😂 I’m a Catholic and I don’t see how this is mocking God tbh. Ariana is clearly talking about sex here. They just look at the title and automatically think they have a right to be angry because “Ariana is saying God is a woman” when really, God is an almighty spiritual being who has no gender. History has just decided God is to be depicted as a man just because Jesus came down to Earth as a man.

@Leeah Perez the misuse doesn't compare to the quote she uses. Not only does she alter the quote, the bible says directly say word for word what is in the bible. Misleading or misinforming people of Christian values is dangerous if you are faithful. That's a big reason why a big number of people who know their stuff about it don't preach; even if it's unintentional, if you misinform there are unique consequences for misinforming and altering bible verses. I don't know if they just messed up the quote, or altered it on purpose. I know they changed a couple words but I also know it's the same quote from Pulp Fiction and they got the verse wrong. And I don't mean when they replace "he" with "she" bc God is genderless, only referred to as Father because they used symbolism that humans would understand. But it isn't word for word, and mixing holy symbolism with sex-rooted imagery, I'm not sure if that part is blasphemous or close enough to make Christians uncomfortable. Most of the imagery in it isn't even solely Christian. I think mainly the part at the end where she and all the women take God's place. Aside from that it is mainly the bible quote they butchered. It has a punishment of its own because if people don't read their bible and just listen to someone's take on it (which is far too common) people can spread that misinformation, or will just flat out not know the word of God, which can affect your overall life in a myriad of ways depending on how devout you are. Though I'm not sure how devout you really are if you don't read your bible lol.. This is one of my favorite songs and it's probably never not going to be on a playlist. I don't agree with the video but it isn't like... that big of a deal really. Nobody's listening to her to learn about Jesus, at most for me personally the quote is cheesey. It isn't a huge mockery like dressing up like Jesus directly and something crazy and outlandish, but it is still mockery and misquoting at once.
