@@_Siloam_ It is a religion. It just makes more sense to worship God and not worship the religion itself. Religions have been used by tyrants and warmongers to oppress people and kill people for over an entire millenia. Religion isn't what you should follow, it's God you should follow.

@smallbutfierce That is the truth... Jesus calls us to be born again Christians... You Must Be Born Again 3 Now there was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews. 2 This man came to Jesus[a] by night and said to him, “Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher come from God, for no one can do these signs that you do unless God is with him.” 3 Jesus answered him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again[b] he cannot see the kingdom of God.” (John 3:1-21).

@lordoftheflies7024 It is not rules and regulations... it is a way of life. To not give into sin! For example like any Father or parent... they teach you not to steal, murder... just the same as GOD. If you love GOD why wouldn't you want to please him like you would do your parents here on earth. Or do you just want to have a chaotic world. No rules or regulations as you say and sin and run rampid like the world is now! Jesus stated there be higher levels of lawlessness and no respect for authority and it is happening all over the globe. Even in this world there is a way of life. Respect the cops and authority as GOD commands us to do. It is no different! Not following this way of life and letting sin take over is why the world is the way it is now and it is only going to get worse, because individuals such as yourself have this mentality you are displaying right here in your comment! Please read the word of GOD and build up your armor... please do not follow the world for it has nothing to offer you, but Jesus has a free gift of eternal salvation...

Christianity doesn't exist. Or at least there's no mention of this in the Bible (KJV). Now, if you say Christians. Yes, it's not a "religious thing" it's a Following of Christ, and establishing a relationship with him. But people trying to imply that "Christianity" is a following of Christ. They're just wrong. People should ONLY USE THE WORD "CHRISTIAN"... Because it fits.... anywhere you can use the word Christianity 🤷

@Free_Palestine_From_Hamas Friend, a Christian who did not read their bible used to think going to church every Sunday and only cracking it open during sermons.. that was me. Honestly, I thought I was a Christian, until I grew disillusioned and left. When I came back, I realized I never really knew the Lord, because I wasn't bible literate I had no idea I was listening to a false preacher, giving money for years! When I read the bible for myself, I quickly realized this God was not at all what I was listening to, the false preacher is Joseph Prince. Unfortunately, that church is the 2nd largest in Singapore, and the largest is ALSO a health and wealth church under another false preacher, so I really take reading the bible seriously to discern the truth, bc one can easily be deceived by a counterfeit when they don't know and study the real thing. So while I agree you don't need to have read the whole bible to be a Christian, one who loves God will also love His Word, plus the bible has such beautiful poetry, even for general reading it is excellent an piece of literature

That would not be loving and that would be anti-biblical and it would just support when people call Christians hypocrites. That would be a hypocritical thing to do. How many of us have gotten something at Starbucks and said oh my gosh that was wonderful and shared it with everyone do we get offended at that? No. So when Christians fall in love with the word and want to share it, we're called preachy, that were condemning people, that we hate people. It's wrong and it's condemnation in the other direction all while others don't see it. We cannot wait to make right with God only if everyone else becomes right first. That's ridiculous. So why would that'd be a good idea to judge other Christians before we judge non-christians. Jesus never said in the Bible that he was coming for the perfect Christians. He said he was coming for the believers. So even a hypocritical Christian stands to go to heaven before a non-believer. We are saved by grace and for what Jesus did not for what we do. And thank God for that because we all judge, Christian and non-Christian. If anyone has told you different then they are wrong and I am sorry. Man-made religion is not the same as scripture. If we just all looked into the Bible for answers, we would be better off. Remember Jesus came to Earth to establish who God was and how we get there, not to create religion. He wants relationship with you more than religion. Please don't let overly religious people steer you away. I wish you a blessed day

If Christians persecute gays in Africa, and if Christians support America's endless wars, then it's Christians themselves who are to blame when Christianity gets a bad rap among gays or among folks who abhor the Palestinian genocide. My wife and I met when we were 20 and we have been together for 9 years. And for 9 years I have prayed that she comes to know Christ. It took 9 years for her to start to feel comfortable with going to church again. All because she had the faith weaponized against her by an ex who happened to be the son of a preacher. I never pushed the issue super hard because I had to allow for grace and for the holy Spirit to work. Yet I have always felt so bad and angry that her perception of something that is the most beautiful thing in the world is wrapped because of some dbag.

I hate seeing people here arguing about religion so much. Please people grow up and stop telling other people what is faith and what faith is the best. I didn't speak out on this matter for so many years because I was always afraid of it. To be honest, the topic of Christianity is still very difficult for me, almost like taboo. But I really feel like there are actually a lot of people who need to hear what I'm going to say. Faith was very important to me as a child, but only later did I understand that I believed it all simply out of fear (which later turned out to be a sin itself). Being afraid of God is not true faith. Going to church and confessing because someone forces you to do so, is not faith. We had religion lessons at school and I always fought for every minute to get through those because I simply couldn't listen to what the priest was saying. He was simply saying things that I disagreed with so much but I was afraid to speak up. And I couldn't withdraw from those lessons because I wanted to receive a document at the end entitling me to get married (I thought I might need it in the future and I didn't want to add to my problems). As a child, I felt even intimidated by religion, I didn't understand my sexuality then, and the only thing they told us was simple intimidation, at least through the eyes of a child. They said that revealing your body is the greatest sin in existence and if you have dirty thoughts, you are literally Satan. It was the only education I had on this matter. I often felt like the worst person in the world because of this, these remorse cannot even be described. I also actually hated going to church because instead of feeling safe there, it always spoiled my mood when I heard how ungrateful I was to God. There is so much stigmatization in the church, homophobia, in general some people there can really feel like they are God's greatest enemies. But that's not true. I also hated confession, I felt so incredibly uncomfortable that I always cried and just wanted to say some random sins as soon as possible and just get out of there. Only when I grew up did I understand how fucked up it all was. Now I know that faith is not all these procedures, but a relationship with God. I pray every day and confess to God when I feel the need, not to the random guy in the confessional. I also have a completely different view of sins. You are a human being after all and please remember that as long as you are kind to other people and know how to love and empathize then God will never forget about you. Also remember that most people who say they are Christians, really are not. If they are full of hatred they cannot call themselves Christians. People who love God also know that God loves everyone so they should too. Besides, now I am also a student of culture and I am involved in, among other things, Bible research. Sometimes I think that everyone should go to such classes and only then would they see things clearly. Guys, what they tell you in church or religion lessons at school is often not even similar to what is written in the Bible. There are many lies mostly because of the language. The original language of the Bible was often very difficult to translate, some words simply did not exist in other languages. So please don't believe everything you hear about God and faith. This is honestly such a vast topic that I wouldn't have enough space to write about it all. Anyway, my message is to everyone who feels the way I felt as a child - please do not be afraid of God, faith is not there to restrict you but so many people will tell you that it is. It is not. Faith is there so you can feel safe and loved. Also remember that faith is not everything, just be a good person and everything will be fine. Don't let other poeple tell you how to faith. Don't let them tell you that you are searching for excuses. You are not searching for excuses, you are simply trying to be happy as a human and live in harmony with yourself. I really hope this helped you ❤

I'm a born and raised Catholic. Went to Catholic school and was an altar server. I currently sing in my Church's choir and am a member of the Knights of Columbus and a Catholic Young Adults group. I'm 32. I'm also a huge fan of Spongebob and Harry Potter. The Pope was not homophobic or sexist. He upholds what Catholics have always believed regarding the sanctity of the sacrament of Holy Matrimony and the natural, complimentary roles of men and women. The media is always taking his comments out of context to try and say either the Catholic Church might change its teaching (not only won't happen, can't happen per Church teaching because the truth is objective, eternal, and unchangeable) or the Pope is (insert form of bigotry that there are popular current movements against in society). It's unfortunate that people who don't take their faith seriously enough to know why the Church teaches what it does are swayed by these ignorant attacks on it. It's also unfortunate that people who think the Catholic Church is wrong will take Ariana Grande at her word when she says that the Pope said these things without actually looking into it. The Pope is only infallible when it comes to establishing official Church teaching, which is very rare as most issues of faith and morality have already been covered in the past 2,000 years. Catholics believe he is an imperfect sinner like we all are. The Pope probably said something like "It's unfortunate that witchcraft is growing in popularity due to the influence of things like the Harry Potter books" or "It's unfortunate that programs for children now incorporate sinful, depraved messages." He doesn't spend his time talking trash about Harry Potter or Spongebob. As Jesus said, the gates of Hell will never prevail against the Church he established. Catholics know the Gospel. We read and hear a sermon about it at every Mass. We cover the whole thing in three year cycles. And Catholics believe they’re born again at baptism. God bless.

Jesus despised religious people too in Matthew 23. However, Jesus isn’t a religion, He’s our Creator. Ephesians 2:8-9 “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the GIFT of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” Romans 10:13 “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” 2 Corinthians 11:3 “But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.” Salvation is so simple, even a child can understand it. It is simply believing with your whole heart that Jesus’ Sacrifice on Calvary was the total and complete payment for your sin. Plus nothing, minus nothing. Jesus will take you just as you are, sin and all. He came for sinners. You don’t have to change because He will change you. Hebrews 2:3 “How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;” So really, what have you got to lose?

@@billyb4790 good question we are separated by our Lord Jesus Christ due to sin, He is Holy therefore can not be in the presence of sin, or would He be righteous? No. When Adam and Eve sinned in the garden of eden, eating off the tree of knowledge of good and evil, as the serpent (Satan) beguiled Eve with a lie) Genesis 3:2-4 KJV 2 “And the women said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:” 3 “ But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, least ye die.” 4 “ And the serpent said unto the women, Ye shall not surely die:” 5 “ For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.” 6 “ And when the women saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.” they were punished for their disobedience to God, just like a good Father disciplines their child as they understand the consequences of the child s actions, hence death due to sin. But because God loves us so much, John 3:16 KJV For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. That is a loving and merciful God, don’t you think? The Gospel verses of salvation are found in 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 KJV 1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. 3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: The scriptures are found in Matthew, Mark, Luke and John in the Holy Bible KJV. You see Satan is the father of lies, he has deceived the world by false religions, evil agendas, hate, war, he hates us because God loves us, and he is jealous of us. He wants to be God, but will never be! As God already conquered death by the cross, and offers redemption by His shed blood from our sins. That is a loving God, one who wants good for us not evil. It is our free will that makes us turn from Him, He doesn’t force us, he longs for us to want him, that is love. These “ Stars” could possibly be the seed of satan, they are meant to distract you from the truth of the love of God, our Heavenly Father, Son Jesus Christ and Holy Spirit, the Holy Trinity, most of them have said they sold their soul to the devil for fame. Believe me we will not be board once in Heaven, it will be the most loving, acceptance, joyful place you cannot even imagine! I feel you reached out for this information as God is calling you to know Him, please read the Holy Bible KJV only, as others have added and subtracted from the word of the Lord and confuse the scriptures, once you believe then the Holy Spirit will dwell in you and teach you in all understanding. 1 Corinthians 2:9 KJV But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, Neither have entered into the heart of man, The things which God hath prepared for them that love him. @billyb4790 I think there is a misunderstanding. While I can understand worship may seem boring, it really isn't. It gets you going. Your emotions swirling. Sometimes, you can feel God's presence, which is unlike anything of this world. Sometimes, you'll cry and thank God for Jesus dying for you. Other times, it's just routine. Now, about everything being a sin, that is simply not true. While there are plenty of things that are sinful, such as morally wrong deed, I believe what you might be referring to is things like playing video games, watching TV, etc. It isn't like we can't do those things but that we should put God first and foremost. So what you might be thinking is idolization. In which someone may put one thing off more importantly than another thing. Like if I loved a girl more than God. Plus, it could also be things that can lead you to sin. Listening to rap all the time? You'll start talking in that lingo. Listening to promiscuous music? You might become more promiscuous/rebellious, etc. Basically, what you take in can easily be what comes out. As for God's judgment, I really like this analogy: you disobey your parents you get a a time out, you disobey your teachers you get detention, you disobey your boss you get fired, you break the law you get put is jail, so if you disobey the literal creator of everything and who is just..you get sent to Hell. It doesn't matter how little the sin is. It's all bad. Think like how for most of us a drop of water in milk is okay, but we draw the line at a drop of milk in our water. God is perfect, pure, and holy. He will never compromise. However, the world likes to say how evil and unfair God is, but do you know it is by His mercy that you breathe right now? Every breath is a gift from on High. I hope this helped explain some things. I'm not a preacher by any means. I'm just a guy trying to follow the straight and narrow, but I make mistakes, and God still forgives. That doesn't mean we should since because He'll forgive us anyway because that idea could get you sent to Hell. Humility, Service, Fearing the Lord, and loving Him with all our heart, our soul, our mind, and our strength. It's not meant to be easy, but it's what we must do

When someone says they reject god for “spirituality” what they are saying is I want to take the easy way out. It’s hard to follow the word of god. It can be hard to be a good person. It can be hard to push aside our desires for what god wants from us. I know if left to my own devices I’d have all the sex I could with a new girl whenever I want. When I was younger I did. I was a “Christian” but I excused it because “everyone else does it”. It was so wrong. God healed me and changed my ways. Now I want a meaningful relationship with a woman I can marry and love her only. I still have desires, but I don’t act on them. It’s a hard road to push aside things like that, but it’s what the lord wants, and the father only wants what is best for his children.

I like the analogy via Frank Turek. Thanks. I also think the implicit reason why people leave the church and don't return apart from getting 'caught up in the worlds' with all it's trappings and seductions is that they saw hypocrisy with their church leaders, perhaps even downright evil intent. They looked also perhaps to the abuses of the church in history- the selling of indulgences by the Catholic church, the crusades, the Salem witch trials and executions to name a few. Lets always remember NOT to blame God for the brokenness of humanity. Let us return to all the examples as well as his invitations to us that Jesus left us during his earthly ministry and the Holy Spirit as helper and advocate as the means to truly open a relationship with our mighty and compassionate Lord and Savior. His Grace always abounds. We must have those eyes to see and those ears to see.

I think because Christ and the gospel is so real- when a persons spirit rejects it, deep down they feel it so they push back twice as hard to convince themselves that the gospel isn’t real. It also comes down to how they were taught. Some people make Christianity all about behavior and being perfect. Our given nature as sinners goes against that. We naturally want to satisfy our flesh because we are born flesh and born into sin. We have to accept Jesus and what He did and renew our relationship with God so he can change that rebellious nature to want to do the opposite.

@@mwright0428 you assume people know reality, most don't know what a soul is, i'm into spirituality and i can explain to you all my processes and discoveries, but i still don't understand the sacred texts and i can't do something until i know its purpose, i have no idea why people find it so easy to apply whatever rule they want into their lives, but i guess it's a problem i have, i can't do anything until i have a deep understanding if the hows and the whys of everything, that doesn't only apply to the gospel, so for example if God said that i shouldn't eat shrimps i couldn't bring myself to avoid shrimps until i understand why is considered a sin, and this total need for understanding both makes me question everything everytime, making me understand things more but also makes things like following the gospel extremely difficult, i just obtained the ability to trust the idea of God again because i only met hurtful christians in my life with only a single exception. Then after learning more about spirituality i understood that most of the people that claim to be christians actually understand nothing of it, and even me as a non christian know God more than them and that's embarassing, i had to explain to many christians how to effectivelt spread the gospel without being hurtful and causing the destruction of christianity's image, i think that if people understood true christianity the world would be so much better, but they don't, and me as a non christian have to explain that to them, there is a real problem with the christian community.

I agree. I’m 63 and a Catholic convert from the Presbyterian and Episcopal churches. I think a lot of young people have not read the Scriptures and have not taken time to develop a relationship with God. Rather, they step out into the world where everything and everyone is new and exciting to them. And then they form their opinions about God based on what they see in the world. But as these young people age through time and circumstances, they often realize that they need to be concerned about themselves and what will happen to their soul after they die. Their focus shifts from concerns about what’s happening in the world to what’s happening in their own lives. Homosexuality, abortion, the death penalty, women’s rights, wars, etc. will continue to be issues for humanity through the ages. But each of us at some point must realize that “the cares of this world” (Mark 4:19) ultimately belong to God and He will solve all things one day. But God makes one request of us, to make sure we accept Him and want to be with Him in the next life.

I really hope this helped you ❤️

Too many Christians downplay the multiple scriptures about the difficulty of a rich man making it to heaven. You can’t have both worldly & spiritual success - at some point you need to choose.

People get irritated by this and I used to also. But God allowed mankind to be a particular way after the fall. In His divine wisdom, He made sure that it was the earnestly seeking heart who would find Him. Dont forget that if a person is honestly looking for God, they WILL find Him when they seek Him with all of their heart. There's no room for blame or bad feelings about people like this. We didn’t come out of the womb singing hymns and praising God, we had our own journey too. As long as Arianna and people who think like this are here, God has a plan for them and they have a chance.

I do. It's precisely what Jesus taught, but it ironically has been turned into a religion. Kind of like how He told us not to memorize incantations like the pagans but instead speak from the heart to God, and then He gave an example, and we being idiots wrote that down and memorized it and call it The Lord's Prayer. We did the exact OPPOSITE of His sermon.

Saying people who disagree with homosexuality are 'homophobic' is a tactic to make it seem like those who disagree are disordered, or have some sort of internal problem. It's an attempt to put stigma on those who disagree.

Hmm... "Full surrender" doesn't seem to be the right phrase because we all sin, but as long as we strive to follow the two great commandments, we are not far from the kingdom of God like Jesus said. We are not under the Law of Moses because they're obsolete since they're from Old Heavens and Old Earth. We are now New Heavens and New Earth under the Law of Christ. Not too many people notice this because the end of all ages mean the old Covenant. The end of age (singular) means Jesus came to earth to put away with the New Covenant.
