I feel better! I panic when I see those pictures and video of a baby with their own closet full of BABY clothes

I’ve never seen a capsule wardrobe video for a newborn 😊 You’re totally right that after having kids, you know what you actually use! With my newborn now, I’m trying to stick to a minimalist wardrobe and didn’t bother getting anything besides onesies and sleepers! That’s what mine live in at this stage 😊

I loved nightgowns for my kiddos when they were tiny. They are 31-35 now. 🤦🏼♀️ don't know how that happened. 😢

Another good thing of doing capsule wardrobe, you can splurge a little more on quality of clothes and cuter prints and colors. Kind of like konmari method but for shopping. Pick only a few items minimal jist as much that you need BUT you purchase the cutest ones.

I LOVE this. Whenever I have my next baby (if I do), I’m definitely doing this. I 100% agree on all this!

I used sleep gowns for both my daughter and son and highly recommend them too. In the middle of the night no one wants to muck around with clips, buttons or zips, these are so quick and easy.

Great job 👍I’m having my 3rd in March. I have one girl 4 and one boy 2. Not sure what this one is yet. We have quite a bit of hand me downs from both leftover. I went through quite a while back and got rid of a ton that I just didn’t want anymore. So now I have more of a minimalist wardrobe. The only things I have had to get for this baby is a couple new halo sleep sacks and some babysoy footed pants. We rarely do socks. Obviously going to keep evaluating as time goes and see when this new one gets here just how much we actually use.

Thank you for the tips. I am due in August. I don’t want to spend too much money especially considering baby grows so fast. So you really helped

I do laundry every single day. The kids laundry gets washed every 2-3 days. Even with my son who was a “happy spitter” and we still only had 4-5 outfits and 5-6 sleepers.

Kudos to you! I personally don't do anything white for my kiddos- just too much work- even though they look ADORABLE. Solid color/patterns of darker colors are always my preference!

I had about that for my newborn wardrobe and have had enough for 4 children ever size after and once my daughter grows out of the size we donate over half of the things. One thing about minimalist wardrobes for babies is if you underestimated what you'll need you can go buy something! But this seems like the perfect selection to start with!

I find of you do a load every day (if you have one obviously) its alot easier to keep up with. Having to fold 3 or 4 loads of laundry in 1 day drives me insane. We are definitly doing a minamilst wardrobe for our next.

Yess!! It’s so much easier to keep up with when you do laundry regularly as opposed to letting it pile up!

We are trying for #3. This go round I'm going with rompers and sleepers. I've found it makes my life so much easier, especially with 3 kids and doing cloth diapers. My first girl had all the foofoo multi piece outfits (first granddaughter, teenage grandsons), my second girl had lots of rompers. One pieces forever! 😉
@ariannapflederer6 жыл бұрын
My girls lived in rompers in the summer! They were my favorite as well. But not warm enough for winter :) I am totally not a “foo foo” dressing mom at all. Haha. I know some are, and that’s cool. But I am ALL about functionality. I had a few fancier pieces when my kids were 6+ months, but still very few. When they’re really tiny though, it’s just not worth it! Haha.

On those gowns: i LOVED them for my older two. They both had to be on a bilirubin blanket for jaundice and it made life so much easier since I had to keep them attached to this freaking light 24/7 until their levels were low enough. I 100% expected to have to use it with my son, so I got some gowns for him. Ended up not needing the bilirubin blanket so I didn't use them as much, but I was glad I had them just in case.

I love this video. I currently have 4 sleepers, 3 tops, 2 pants, and 2 gowns for our little guy. I was looking to see what else he may need. I like sleepers more than separates for the nb stage and outfits for doctors appts mostly.

Do you find button or zipper better? For button do we need the ones that button all the way at both legs and bottom or is the one from top down to one leg enough? Does this make changing harder having to take out the two legs?
@hartsheart6 жыл бұрын
I had my youngest son a week after you had rev and I did a similar minimalist wardrobe. I still found that we collected extra clothes sometimes but the minimal wardrobe worked really well. He ran NOT all the time do he didn't use as many sleepers but like you said, we adjusted and bought a few more onesies and little pants. Good luck 😍😍

I love those gowns but one trick that took me 4 babies to learn is to put them on from the feet up. Since that have the fold over shoulders you can and its much easier than getting the elastic over the shoulders.

I absolutely adore this idea, me and my husband live in a one bedroom apartment (expecting our first child this September). Where did you buy the organizers from, the ones you put inside of the dresser, I’ve been looking for small organizer like those but can’t seem to find them!
@ariannapflederer5 жыл бұрын
The plastic ones? They were given to us by my mother-in-law before we got married I think. They are just junk drawer organizers! The black ones I believe are from target! 🙂

Getting ready to welcome Baby #2 (and our first boy) after the holidays and I had to go back and rewatch this and Your minimalism baby must haves! This is my first time approaching baby stuff from a minimalist perspective, too so I am giving this a try! 5 each seems completely appropriate to me. With our daughter we had WAY too many clothes and she didn’t even get a chance to wear a lot of them. Thanks for the tips as usual!

Man I wish! We were graciously gifted many clothes for my little man. In his current size range he has 28 tops, 12 pants, and 10 sleepers. It has forced me to dress him every single day, so I can get photos of all the outfits to people before he grows out of them. Thankfully the next size range is not nearly as crazy.
@britaneelilly81476 жыл бұрын
We were gifted multiple fancy dress sets for our oldest: dress, bloomers, tights, and sweater. At 8 pounds... We used them for pictures only to make sure the giver knew they were appreciated. Then it was back to sleepers! Our second girl was given mostly books. YAY! Maybe the 3rd will receive no gifts at all. 🤷♀️🤞

my preemies were too small for any clothes in the hospital. now we are home from the hospital they finally fit into what i brought. i did 8 sleepers per baby in each size. the rest is burp cloths and 1 pair of socks each. all my babies are pukers including my toddler so im washing every day any way.

I love this! My daughter had severe acid reflux so having only 5 outfits and a few sleepers would have been a joke for us since she threw up so often until her Zantac kicked in and even then she spit up so often and bibs weren’t always enough especially for the blow outs but I love this capsule wardrobe idea and it might work great for my next baby so I’ll for sure save this vid 🧡
