It just sounds to me more like you particularly enjoy ejector airtime and whippy inversions. That's fine, but it's just a style and doesn't make any one ride better or worse than others that might be full of floater airtime or steep dives or more near-miss elements, strong theming, or terrain interaction. They're just... different, and obviously people can enjoy different aspects of different rides. I specifically take issue with calling floater airtime hills forceless; that's exactly the point, you can enjoy weightlessness.

Talking about what you like in coasters, Montu has a good mix of positive G-force moments. RMC’s layout designer for that first decade or so Alan Schilke said many times in interviews he purposely stays away from designing rides with strong positive G’s. He’s since retired and Arie Force one (along with Wildcat’s Revenge) have a new layout designer Joe Draves. The deferent layout designer may be a large contributing factor to why you like Arie Force One more. RMC’s stray away from positive G’s is what keeps them out of my absolute favorite rides. I like the mix of forces and pacing that some of the other manufacturers provide as well! The funny thing about this is that same guy who designed Goliath, Twisted Colossus, & Iron Gwazi’s layout also designed X2’s layout!
@PoseidonEntertainment3 ай бұрын
I didn't realize Schilke was designing RMCs, I just kind of assumed he dropped off after Arrow collapsed. That makes sense though with how you can see how different his RMCs are from the newer ones.

@@PoseidonEntertainment yeah he stayed busy! After Arrow he worked for S&S, he engineered the layout for their modern Air Launch coasters, four wooden coasters, the free spins you see all over the six flags parks and then some! This ride is extraordinarily powerful, and truly belongs in everyone's top collection, but I personally found it to be a bit too much... I got ten rides on July 4th, 2023, a day that was super hot and humid. I closed my eyes on the quad-down in the back row, and the last step down whipped me so hard I got motion sickness (very few coasters do this to me). That was ride number 7, and I still got 3 more after that, but I did so reluctantly. Perhaps if I got rides during a more temperate time of year, like fall or spring, I would like it more. I personally prefer Wildcat's Revenge, and I prefer it by a significant margin. I prefer the thick twister layout to the dull L-shaped layout, I prefer Wildcat's wider variety of forces (laterals aren't too heavy on Arie), and I also found Wildcat to be a bit more creative. I can't possibly imagine how RMC could have done Wildcat better, given the footprint that ride has- it's the only RMC coaster to both heavily deviate from the base coaster's layout, AND add track length to it.

I wonder if while you were in Atlanta you had a chance to pass by Stone Mountain. Now there's a one that's problematic almost as a statement of purpose, but when I visited it, I was surprised at how elaborate it actually was. I was initially just curious about the physical aspects of the carving but going up on the cable car to the top made me realize just how much more there is to the park. Aside from going up and down the mountain, they had a dinosaur display, a jungle type facility for kids, a dedicated train that circles the mountain, a geological museum that explains the creation of the mountain and even had a 4D theater and a lot of seasonal attractions. That's not to mention the themed restaurants and walk through displays. There's also a separate area with an antique village made up of transplanted period specific houses set up as museum displays. There were no huge rides, but the theming was fairly consistent and the whole park seems to go out of their way to be inclusive (like if it would help). I was left curiously ambivalent as to what to think about it.
@PoseidonEntertainment3 ай бұрын
I've been there a few times when I was a young kid, but I only really remember it being purely historical and not glorifying the Confederacy. Honestly the way I stand on most rollers coasters now is that while I do like all the forces and excitement that comes from them, I honestly think most are kinda bland and boring because they don’t have really any theming whatsoever, any storyline is usually vague and doesn’t really impact what the actual ride experience has, etc. I understand it’s not like you can build a giant mountain on top of silver bullet at knott’s and turn it into like a journey to the center of the earth ride, and I also understand that the goal of most roller coasters is to be thrilling, but I would personally appreciate roller coasters with little to no theming far more if at least some more theming than roller coaster track and carts with some vague storyline was added in, like say adding some small but definitely interesting mine shaft elements on ghost rider with some mine carts off to the side of the track and maybe some rock work, yeah it’s not much sure but it’s better than just roller coaster track and carts lightly themed.

Both are not the biggest, but they have the best sequences of elements that hit right in a row with no deadspots or dull turnarounds that exist on both Gwazi and SteVe. To say Velocicoaster is forceless though... Have you ridden in the back row? That first inversion is INSANE in the back row.
@PoseidonEntertainment3 ай бұрын
I've ridden Velocicoaster probably many more times than the average person and yeah, it feels relatively forceless to me. Even the launches on Hagrids have more impact at their lower speed.

I find it amusing that the major park in the area gets an unfinished RMC that is irredeemable trash as a result (it looks like they used auto-complete to finish the thing ffs) and the random park gets a complete looking one. It feels like it should be the other way around. Now i haven't been on either, but as Twisted Cyclone was the most anticipated I've ever been for a coaster, seeing the unfinished looking nature of its layout and the EXTREMELY forced looking ending (again auto-complete), any and all goodwill and faith in it died. I'm 100% serious when i say that id rather they left Georgia Cyclone alone if this was the "best" that they could do, that is how much i hate that ride. I wasn't expecting something like Steel Vengance, but i was expecting more than half of Wicked Cyclone or Twisted Timbers.

Great review. Calling the park "Sketchy" barely covers it, "barely functioning dump" was more accurate. I kind of wish you'd been able to write a more in-depth review of all the park rides, but seriously, I think there's not really much to review and I don't see the point in getting on a bunch of subpar, and possibly dangerous rides just to say they were as crappy as they looked like from the outside. I think most people would be surprised at just how subpar this whole park looks while driving past it on Highway 85. I drove by it for months thinking it was a defunct park that had been left to the elements to deteriorate before realizing it was still a (supposedly) functioning park. That monster truck in the front doesn't do it any favors either.

154ft and 54mph doesn't sound right. Usually coasters 100ft hit 50mph, 150ft 60mph, 200ft 70mph, etc. What gives? Eg the smiler is only 98ft and hits 53mph Edit: just looked it up I was right it goes 64mph, the script had a mistake

Not sure I agree with anything else in the video….but you’re whole stigma is being purposely controversial anyway so it’s hard to take anything you say seriously but either way….Arie force is a big scale rmc with the layout of a small scale Rmc which gives it that insane feeling and yea it’s my favorite over, iron gwazi, lightning rod, steel vengeance, and zadra… but that’s an unpopular opinion… also saying velocicoaster is mid just means you haven’t ridden it lol

I don't think it's accurate to say thusies think B&Ms are boring and safe. Their older rides like montu and kumba and the inverts are easily some of the most intense rides out there, and every hyper and giga is generally well loved. I do think people are kind of bored with dive coasters, but there is a ton of buzz about the wing coaster opening next year. Sure, they aren't quite as exciting as other companies, but I think it's more the predictability that is turning people off. There is only so excited people can get about another dive coaster with useless vest restraints.
@PoseidonEntertainment3 ай бұрын
I've seen a lot of cynicism towards B&M lately, but yeah, I guess it might just be the new stuff. When was the last time a park got a good looper?
@IRDeady3 ай бұрын
@@PoseidonEntertainment in the U.S. it looks like Hydra was the last one in 2005 at Dorney. Which is way longer ago than I expected. Everything since then has been an invert, a hyper/giga, a wing or a dive.

What an odd park and holy moly what a terrible financial decision on their part! On the subject of the wild west facades, for some reason that seems to be a common thing in family fun centers. Our local one has a very detailed western facade but literally no theming of any kind inside or out. I assume it’s intended to make the place look more appealing to passers by, but it’s just weird. Also, thank you for being seemingly the only coaster enthusiast online that is capable of recognizing that their personal preference for rides is not necessarily a reflection on the objective quality of an experience.

I guess it's a combination of being old and overweight, but I just don't find RMCs to be fun. The restraints are pretty awful, combined with abrupt elements just abuses my body and I don't enjoy it. I'd much rather ride the front row of Sheikra or Montu than Iron Gwazi these days.

I know you aren't a contrarian. That said, saying you were underwhelmed by Velocicoaster (especially being a person who loves theming and story telling) feels like contrarianism and I can't for the life of me think of a more comprehensible reason for such a take. I'm trying to be respectful but this one is stretching me. I do personally think Iron Gwazi is a bit overrated and I prefer Steel Vengeance and Lightning Rod (in its original form anyway) over Iron Gwazi. Side note, X2 is my personal favorite coaster but I will admit that it would be better if it had leg restraints like you have on B&M flying coasters. But I can totally get why it isn't for everyone. And I'm someone who prefers a great dark ride over a coaster so I'm not just looking for meaningless chaos in a ride. But X2 is still my favorite coaster

The theming of Velocicoaster is great, but I'm not getting much out of its layout. Like I said, I can acknowledge that it's a top tier experience in terms of layout and pacing, but I just don't personally get much out of it, especially when compared to the line-up of other coasters throughout Florida.

"A barely functioning dump that happens to have a world class coaster" I'm not a great fan of the place, only been twice, but both times it seemed to be running well enough. So this critique, while funny, seems like a bridge too far. It's not a GREAT park by any means and the theming is indeed quite baffling. Maybe I'm optimistic that it has room to grow and improve itself.

I don't think that description is harsh for what I observed, but I doubt that Fun Spot will improve with how mismanaged it is. I know people who have a bit of insight into how the parks are run from a management perspective and it's your typical story of greed.

Imagine being the management of this park watching this vid of some guy with no experience running an amusement center suggesting you're not even keeping up with maintenance on rides (he didn't even ride while there) after injecting 10mil into the property to elevate what was essentially an upper level FEC. But hey, you riled me up and got your comment engagement so congrats. The channel has always been primarily contrarian nonsense, but this vid is just too much bullshit hiding behind it "just being my opinion". You didn't need to do all that posturing. Could have just said the coaster was all I was interested in and kept it moving. The coaster enthusiast stuff is peak contrarian. I'll give you the X2 take, but nothing else makes sense. Montu somehow ending up the counter example for unnecessary intensity is...telling.

I had to stop watching. I love Airieforce, my son and I drove over 6 hours to ride Airie, got to ride it by ourselves in every seat. Our exact words about ranking Airie, "it's awesome, but it's no Velocicoaster". Velocicoaster may be the current best coaster in the world. Best theming, best inversion, best ride trains and constraints, and yes the launches are punchy. How a coaster enthusiast could possibly say that the second launch on Velocicoaster, that powers you up the top hat is forceless is beyond me. Kinda makes me think, maybe you never actually rode it, just watched a pov.
