@@rodolfoescontrias9846 I don't know much about Zappa's discography, but I if you listen to the album "We're only in it for the money" by the Mothers you'll find a lot of similarities with what Ariel was doing. You can hear where some parts of the sound comes from, it's just great.

@@tombirner During his early home recording days he played all instruments himself; bass, guitar, keyboard, piano, mouth drums, whatever. Now he just writes all the parts and his backing band plays them. Tim Koh plays bass on this track.

Tom Birner the Bass is definitely real. It’s probably played by Tim Koh. Ariel Pink played all the instruments on the early stuff, and it worked for the style he was going for, but now it’s probably mostly his band mates. His best skills are singing/songwriting and directing the concept. There’s a much more raw and lo fi version of this song on and old compilation where he plays all the instruments. Most of the elements are there, just not played as well.
